Lufeng, a city under the jurisdiction of Chuxiong Prefecture in Yunnan Province, was formed by the merger of Lufeng, Luoci, Guangtong and Yanxing counties in the 1950s. The city's new energy materials industry doubled its output value to 7.614 billion yuan, accounting for 27% of the total industrial output value.
On February 2, 2021, the website of Yunnan Provincial People's government announced that recently, with the approval of the State Council and the reply of the Ministry of civil affairs, it was agreed to abolish Lufeng County and establish Lufeng City at the county level. The former administrative region of Lufeng County is the administrative region of Lufeng city. The people's Government of Lufeng City is located at No. 82, Beichen street, Jinshan Town. Lufeng City is under the jurisdiction of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture.
Historical evolution
According to historical records, Lufeng was the place of Baipu in the spring and Autumn period, and belonged to the state of Dian from the Warring States period, Qin Dynasty to the early Western Han Dynasty. In 109 BC, that is, the second year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty Liu Che pacified the southwest Yi, established Yizhou county and led 24 counties.
The first county in Lufeng was named Qinzang county. The county government was in the old county of qinfengma street. It governed the west part of Xundian County, Fumin County, Luquan County, Wuding County, the southeast of Yuanmou County, the three towns of Luoci in Lufeng County, the north of middle village and township in Lufeng, and the north area of Lufeng Pinglang.
Today, Jinshan Town, the south of Zhongcun Township, hepingdabu, tuguan town in Lufeng City, and michuan Township later assigned to Yimen County belong to Lianran county (today's Anning City).
Today's Dinosaur mountain town was under the jurisdiction of Shuangbai County in the Western Han Dynasty.
Today, it is under the jurisdiction of nongdong County in Pinglang, Gaofeng Township, Caiyun Town, Guangtong Town, tuoan Township and Heijing Town.
In the first year of qilongchang (494) of the Southern Dynasty, Qinzang county and Shuangbai County were separated from Jinning County and set up Xiyi County, where the former Qinzang county was located.
In the Sui Dynasty, Qinzang County belonged to kunzhou.
Tang Dynasty, the first year of Wude (618), the Tang Dynasty opened nanzhong, set Nanning, Kunming, Gongzhou. Qinzang county belongs to kunzhou. In the third year of Zhenguan (649), the governor's office of mianzhou was set up in Yuanmou, which governs three prefectures of mianzhou (Yuanmou), Wangzhou (Guangtong) and Luozhou (Luoci), and two counties of Moyu (Moyi) and Qibu (Jiangbian). The three towns of Luoci in Lufeng City, the southeast of Yuanmou County and the north of Lufeng Zhongcun township are under the jurisdiction of Qinzang County of Luozhou (Luoci); the three towns of Lufeng, Zhongcun, Heping and tuguan in the middle are under the jurisdiction of Anning County of kunzhou; the towns of Yipinglang, Caiyun, Guangtong and Gaofeng in the West are under the jurisdiction of Wangzhou (Guangtong) and the areas to the east of Longchuanjiang River are under the jurisdiction of Yaozhou. Dinosaur mountain town in the south is under the jurisdiction of Tangfeng County in Gouzhou.
In the period of Nanzhao state, the Qinzang County in the East was changed to Cifu, and later to Luobu; Lufeng, Zhongcun, Heping, and tuguan in the middle were still under the jurisdiction of Anning County; Wangzhou (Guangtong) in the West was changed to Luban (Lu). As the salt produced by Heijing and Langjing was "white and delicious", the two wells were under the direct jurisdiction of Nanzhao royal family.
In the late period of Dali in the Song Dynasty, the eastern part of Ci'an was gaolianqing fiefdom; the central part of lu'feng was lu'erdian, which was gaoyisheng fiefdom; the southern part of dinosaur mountain was the source of Juqiao City, which was gaoxiangjian fiefdom; the western part of Guangtong was Lu'an; the western part of Longchuan river was mouzhou.
After the Mongol army pacified Yunnan, in the seventh year of the Mongol emperor Xianzong (1257), 190000 households were set up under the command of the Grand Marshal's office in Dali, with 10000 households under the jurisdiction of 1000 households.
Luobu in the East belongs to lifuqianhu (Fumin) under shanchan wanhu (Kunming); Lufeng in the middle belongs to Anning Qianhu under Yangcheng wanhu (Jinning); dinosaur mountain in the South belongs to Yimen Qianhu under Juqiao wanhu (Kunyang); lulu in the West belongs to Lulu Qianhu under Weichu wanhu (Chuxiong); and the area west of Longchuan River belongs to mouzhou Qianhu under Weichu wanhu (Chuxiong).

In the 24th year of Zhiyuan (1287), Luoci Prefecture was changed into Luoci County, which was subordinate to Anning Prefecture. Luoci County in the East governs the three towns of Luoci; Lufeng County in the middle governs Jinshan, Zhongcun, Heping, tuguan and michuan; Guangtong County in the West governs Yipinglang, Caiyun, Guangtong Town, Gaofeng Township, tuoan Township and Heijing Town, east of Longchuan River. The area to the west of Longchuan River is still under the jurisdiction of Dingyuan county. Dinosaur mountain town in the south is under the jurisdiction of Yimen County. In the sixth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1340), heiyanjing set up a salt division, promoted the division and managed the salt division.
Ming Dynasty, Hongwu 15 years (1382), after the pacification of Yunnan, the Ming Dynasty set up Yunnan buzhengsi in Yunnan, under the government, state, county. The original Zhongqing road was changed to Yunnan Province, and the other provinces, prefectures and counties basically use the old name. The heiyanjing salt class promotion department was set up again to manage the salt classes of Heijing, Langjing, ahoujing, Zhijiu well in Yuanmou County and caoxijing (now Zhongxing well) in Wuding Prefecture.
In the Qing Dynasty, Lufeng County and Luoci county were under the jurisdiction of Yunnan government of grain storage Road, and Guangtong county was under the jurisdiction of Chuxiong government of yixidao.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the Heijing and Langjing in Dingyuan county and the Houjing and awujing in Guangtong county were designated as Yanxing county.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Luoci belonged to Wuding District, Lufeng, Guangtong and Yanxing to Chuxiong district. Luoci County assigned the original Lianxiang town to Lufeng County. Lufeng County transferred michuan township to Panlong town (today's Dinosaur mountain town) in the North District of Yimen County. Guangtong county and Yanxing County remained basically unchanged.
In April 1953, Wuding district was withdrawn and merged into Chuxiong District, and Luoci county was merged with it. On April 4, 1958, the State Council decided to abolish Yanxing county and merge it into Guangtong county. On April 15, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture was established, and Lufeng, Guangtong and Luoci were subordinate to Chuxiong Prefecture. From June to October, Luoci county and Guangtong county were abolished and merged into Lufeng County.
