Pan'an County belongs to Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. It is located in the middle of Zhejiang Province (the geographical center of Zhejiang Province, known as "the heart of Zhejiang"), and borders Dongyang, Xinchang, Xianju, Tiantai and other cities and counties. It is within 2 hours from Hangzhou, Wenzhou and Ningbo, belonging to the Southern Economic Zone of Yangtze River Delta and the economic zone of central Zhejiang Urban Agglomeration. With a total area of 1196 square kilometers, it governs two streets, seven towns and five townships, with a population of 209000. Pan'an County was established in 1939 during the war of resistance against Japan. In 1958, the whole territory was incorporated into Dongyang county. In 1983, Pan'an County was restored.
Pan'an is the largest settlement of Kong family in the south of the Yangtze River. It has two "national key cultural relics protection units", Yushan ancient tea farm and Zhuxi Kong family temple, Dapanshan nature reserve, the only national nature reserve for medicinal plants, baizhangtan and Jiaxi eighteen vortex, ecological bimodal drifting, and Yunshan provincial tourist resort. Pan'an, known as "the ancestor of mountains and the source of rivers", is the main birthplace of the Qiantang River, Oujiang River, Lingjiang River and Cao'e River. Pan'an is also known as "bonsai and natural oxygen bar in central Zhejiang". The forest coverage rate of the county is 75.4%. Since Huichang of Tang Dynasty, Pan'an has had one Wu champion, six Wu Jinshi and 70 Wen Jinshi. Xiao Tong once lived in seclusion in Dapan mountain and devoted himself to compiling Wenxuan. Lu You in Pan'an left a "heavy mountains and rivers, doubt no way, another village" eternal masterpiece. Wang Xiangzhi, the author of Yudi Jisheng, the general geographic records of the Southern Song Dynasty, Ye Zhen, the first of the seven talents in Jiangnan during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, Zhang Hao, the first director of the General Administration of space in the period of the Republic of China, pan Jianwei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and so on are all Pan'an people. Historical evolution
In history, Pan'an was under the jurisdiction of Dongyang, Yongkang, Jinyun, Tiantai, Yiwu, Zhuji, Linhai and other counties. The name of the county comes from the saying that "the country is safe in Panshi" (Panshi means "Panshi") in Xunzi · Fuguo, which means "safe as a rock".
Today's Pan'an region, the spring and autumn and Warring States belong to Yue. In Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Kuaiji Prefecture and Minzhong Prefecture.
In 195, the northern part of the Eastern Han Dynasty belonged to Hanning of Kuaiji County, Yangzhou.
In 231, the third year of Huanglong, the great emperor of Wu of the Three Kingdoms, the eastern part was the Shihping County of Kuaiji (later changed to Linhai). Wu chiwu eight years of the Three Kingdoms (245), the southern part of Yongkang county. In 266 of the first year of Wu Baoding in the Three Kingdoms, the northern part of the kingdom belongs to Wuning of Dongyang county.
In the first year of Taikang in Jin Dynasty (280), it belonged to Wuning and Yongkang of Kuaiji County, and Shifeng of Linhai county.
After changing Wuzhou into Dongyang County in 607, the northeast of Wuzhou belonged to Zhuji, the east to Linhai, the southwest to Yongkang, and the middle to Wushang.
In the first year of Dengfeng (696), tangxing county was in the East, Jinyun County in the southeast, Yongkang County in the southwest and Dongyang County in the northeast.
Since the second year of Xianping (999) in the Northern Song Dynasty, Dongyang County, Yongkang County, Jinyun County and Tiantai county have set up inspection departments in Yushan and Ruishan respectively, and then Yongkang county set up inspection departments in Xiaoyi. Taizhou.

It was established in the Republic of China and abolished the system of government and Taoism. All counties were directly under the Zhejiang provincial government. In August 1935, the Zhejiang provincial government of the Kuomintang set up the "Dapan mountain appeasement area", commonly known as "Wuping County", in the marginal mountainous areas of Yongkang, Dongyang, Jinyun, Xianju and Tiantai counties.
Pan'an County was born on July 1, 1939 in the war of resistance against Japanese aggression. Huang Shaohong and Ruan Yicheng of Zhejiang Province, etc. according to the sentence "then the country is safe in Panshi" in Xunzi Fuguo by Xun Kuang, "pan" means "pan" and "Panshi" means "Panshi", which means firm and indestructible. They named Pan'an after "Panshi's safety". Approval is obtained after reporting.
On October 30, 1949, the people's Government of Pan'an County was established, and the county was moved from Dapan to Anwen town.
On September 17, 1953, seven administrative villages, including Lengshui, Lianhe (Siyan, Qiuli), Zhangyan (Xiaozhang, Yantan), Yangxi (Changshan, Xiying, Shangan, tanshang, shuikeng Nong), Dengshan (rongkeng, Hushan, Dashan), Zhuangtou and Pantan, with 1143 households and 4271 people, were put under the jurisdiction of Pan'an County.
On September 27, 1956, the 10th and 11th villages of Shanghu township (including 27 natural villages such as zhoujialou and mishaishantou) were assigned to Xinzhong township of Tiantai county with 301 households, 1114 people and 779 mu of cultivated land.
In 1958, Pan'an County was abolished in the great leap forward, and the whole territory was merged into Dongyang, which lasted for 25 years
On February 2, 1961, there were 3 production teams, 84 households, 354 people and 374 mu of cultivated land in Renzhou management area of Anwen commune, which were assigned to Jinyun County.
In May July 1963, Shuangxi people's commune had three production teams, Jinjia, Yuanjia and xiawu, eight production teams, 104 households, 381 people and 305 mu of cultivated land, which were included in Bada people's commune of Dongyang county.
On June 21, 1965, sanqiutian brigade of Shuangfeng commune (including two villages of sanqiutian and chushikeng), three production teams, 47 households, 166 people and 78 mu of cultivated land were put under the jurisdiction of Xianju County.
In August 1976, the Tianxin brigade of Fangqian commune in Panshan district (including three villages of Tianxin, zhuoche and yinmuyang), 9 production teams, 236 households and 961 people, with a cultivated area of 951 mu, was assigned to Tiantai county.
On July 13, 1983, the State Council approved the restoration of Pan'an County and separated it from Dongyang County on November 10. In addition to the original Pan'an County, the county is divided into four townships, namely Lingkou, Yufeng, Jianshan and huzhai, which were originally under the jurisdiction of Dongyang county.
On January 29, 2018, Zhejiang provincial government approved the abolition of Jianshan town, wancang Township and Hushu township to merge Jianshan town; the abolition of Panfeng Township, Weixin Township and Gaoer township to merge Panfeng township; and the abolition of xiao'anwen Town, Xinwo town and Shenze Township, with the administrative region directly under the central government of Pan'an County. On February 2, Jinhua Municipal Government approved the establishment of Anwen street in the former Anwen town area, and Xinwo street in the former Xinwo town and Shenze township area.

The exposed strata are mainly pyroclastic rocks with complex lithology and violent phase transformation. Volcanic rocks are widely distributed in the county, and the exposed area accounts for more than 80% of the county. It can be roughly divided into extrusive rocks and subvolcanic rocks, most of which are extrusive rocks, and intrusive rocks are scattered sporadically. The stratigraphic structure in the area is mainly fault structure, and the fold structure is not developed. The county is a pure mountainous landform dominated by medium and low mountains.
