Pengshan District, Pengshan District, belongs to Meishan City, Sichuan Province. With an area of 465.32 square kilometers, Pengshan has jurisdiction over five streets and three towns (among which, Meishan District of Tianfu new district is entrusted to manage one street and one town), with a permanent resident population of 320100 in 2017.
Pengshan is the hometown of longevity in China, the production base of commercial grain and lean pig in China, and the national ecological demonstration area. Pengshan district is adjacent to Renshou County in the East, Dongpo District in the south, Pujiang County and Qionglai city in the west, Xinjin district and Chengdu Shuangliu District in the north, and belongs to Chengdu Economic Zone.
Pengshan is the main habitat of Peng Zu, the ancestor of the Chinese longevity star, known as the "hometown of longevity".
Historical evolution
Pengshan is named after pengzushan.
During the Warring States period, it was the land of Shu.
After the Qin Dynasty destroyed Shu, it set up a county and set up Wuyang County, which is a Shu county.
Yang Xiong's Shu Ji: "King Hui of Qin sent Zhang Yi and Sima CuO to attack Shu, but Kaiming of Shu refused to fight against it, retreated from Wuyang and won it.".
In the sixth year of Jianyuan reign of Xiaowu in the Western Han Dynasty, Qianwei county was established, and it was then ruled by Zhu (today's Zunyi City). Wang Mang established the "new" Dynasty in AD 9. Qianwei county was renamed Xishun county and moved to Wuyang (Jiangkou Town, Pengshan District). Wuyang County became Qianwei County until Emperor Wu of the Southern Qi Dynasty (483-493).
In 505, the fourth year of Tianjian of emperor Liang Wu of the Southern Dynasty, it was divided into Wuyang county and Lingshi County. In 544, Lingshi County was changed to Qianwei County, belonging to Jiangyang county.
In 553, Qianwei county was replaced by Longshan County (about today's Pengshan and Xinjin). The county government moved from the East Bank of Minjiang River to the West Bank of Minjiang River (now Fengming Street), belonging to Jiangzhou.
Tang Xuanzong Xianxian first year (712), renamed Pengshan County, belongs to Meizhou. Meizhou belongs to the jiannandao Xichuan Jiedushi.
In the third year of Zhidao (997) of the Northern Song Dynasty, the world was designated as No.15 road. Pengshan is a county under the jurisdiction of Meizhou, and Meishan is Xichuan road. In 1059, Xichuan road was changed to Chengdu Fu Road.
In Yuan Dynasty, Pengshan County still belonged to Meizhou, and Meizhou belonged to Chengdu Road.
In 1377, Pengshan County was merged into Meixian County. In 1380, Meixian County was promoted to Meizhou, and Pengshan County was restored in November. It belonged to Meizhou and was directly under the Ministry of political affairs of Sichuan Province.
In 1662, Pengshan County was merged into Meizhou. In 1728, Pengshan County was established, which was still under the jurisdiction of Meizhou Zhili Prefecture.
During the period of the Republic of China (1912-1949), Pengshan County was successively subordinate to shangchuannan Road, Jianchang road and the fourth administrative supervision district.
In 1950, Pengshan was under the jurisdiction of Meishan District of Western Sichuan.
In 1953, Meishan district was abolished and Pengshan County was assigned to Leshan district.
In 1959, Pengshan County was merged into Meishan County.
In 1962, Meishan County was separated from Pengshan County.
In 1997, Pengshan County was under the jurisdiction of Meishan district.
In 2000, Meishan city was set up, and Pengshan County is still under its jurisdiction.
In 2014, Pengshan County was set up as a district, belonging to Meishan City, Sichuan Province.

Division evolution
In September 1950, Fuhe township (maojiadu, guangjichang) of Renshou County and Shunhe township (Banbianjie) of Huayang county were assigned to Pengshan County, and the seven and eight guarantees of Huangfeng township of Pengshan County were assigned to Renshou.
In July 1951, Huangfeng township of Meishan County was assigned to Pengshan County and Xinfeng township was established.
In 1953, Pengshan Qinglong township was from dongheba to yedianzi, and some areas were transferred to Xinjin County.
In 1996, Pengshan County had an area of 466.5 square kilometers and a population of 314000. It governs 9 towns and 9 townships: Fengming Town, Lingshi Town, Gongyi Town, Huangfeng Town, Qinglong Town, Guanyin Town, Xiejia Town, Pengxi Town, Jiangkou Town, Yihe Township, Qishan Township, Yongfeng Township, dengmiao Township, Jiangdu Township, Jinghuang Township, Baosheng Township, Fuhe Township and Muma township.
On April 30, 2005, Yongfeng Township was merged into Jiangkou Town; Jiangdu township was merged into Jinghuang Township, Jinghuang township was renamed Huangling township; Muma township was merged into Fuhe Township, Fuhe township was renamed Wuyang township; dengmiao township was merged into Xiejia township; Qishan township was merged into Yihe township.
In 2007, Lingshi town was abolished and merged into Fengming town; Muma town was newly built, with jurisdiction over the five villages of Lianhua, Tiangong, Wuyang, Baihe and Guanting in the former Wuyang Township and the administrative areas of maojiadu community; three villages of Niwan, Fuling and Jiangdu in Huangling Township and two villages of Shunjiang and Wuyi in Jiangkou Town were put under the jurisdiction of Wuyang township. After the adjustment, Wuyang Township governs the administrative areas of Datang, Quanshui, Niwan, Fuling, Shunjiang and Wuyi villages; Huangling Township governs the administrative areas of tianku, Yongquan, xianger, Lianlian, Zhenghua and Wuling villages and Banbianjie communities; meanwhile, Huangling township is renamed Jinjiang township; Jiangkou Town governs nine villages and towns, namely Kaixuan, Yuanjing, Chachang, Tuqiao, Shilong, Yongli, Shuanghe, Baila and Shuangjiang The administrative area of Jiangtai community.
In 2014, Pengshan County governs 10 towns of Fengming, Pengxi, Jiangkou, Qinglong, Guanyin, Xiejia, Gongyi, Huangfeng, Muma and Wuyang, and 3 townships of Baosheng, Yihe and Jinjiang.
On October 2, 2014, the State Council approved the establishment of Sichuan Tianfu new area. Qinglong Town is located in the planning area of Sichuan Tianfu new area.
On October 20, 2014, Pengshan County was abolished and Pengshan District of Meishan city was established. Pengshan District People's government was stationed at No. 98, West Street, Fengming town.
On November 16, 2015, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the master plan of Sichuan Tianfu New Area (2010-2030) (2015 Edition), and Guanyin Town, Wuyang Town, Muma town and Jinjiang Township were included in the coordinated control area of Tianfu new area.
On October 31, 2016, Fengming town was abolished and Fengming sub district office was established, which is located at 288, third section of Pengzu Avenue; Pengxi town was abolished and Pengxi sub district office was established, which is located at 36 Qiancheng road.
In November 2017, Meishan proposed to build the "economic belt around Tianfu New Area" (Meishan area of Sichuan Tianfu New Area) with high starting point and high standard. According to the economic belt planning of Meishan Tianfu new area, the designated area includes Qinglong Town, Muma town and Jinjiang township.
On December 10, 2019, Guanyin Town and Pengxi Street will be abolished to establish Guanyin street; Yihe Township and Xiejia town will be abolished to establish Xiejia street; Wuyang town and Jiangkou Town will be abolished to establish Jiangkou street; Jinjiang Township and Muma town will be abolished to establish Jinjiang town; Qinglong Town will be abolished to establish Qinglong Street; Baosheng township will be abolished to merge into Gongyi town.

As of December 2019, Pengshan district has 5 sub district offices (Fengming street, Guanyin street, Xiejia street, Jiangkou street, Qinglong Street) and 3 towns (Huangfeng Town, Gongyi Town, Jinjiang town). Among them, the Management Committee of Meishan area of Tianfu new area was entrusted to manage Qinglong Street and Jinjiang town.

Location context
Pengshan district is located between 103.40 and 103.59 east longitude. It covers an area of 465.32 square kilometers. It is located in the west of Sichuan Basin and in the middle reaches of Minjiang River. The district borders Renshou County in the East, Dongpo District in the south, Pujiang County and Qionglai city in the west, Xinjin district and Shuangliu District in the north. It is 28.7 km long from east to west and 25.9 km wide from north to south.

The central part of Pengshan district is plain, and the East and west parts are shallow hills. The central area is Pingba area, accounting for 32% of the total area. Jinghuang, Jiangdu, Jiangkou, Huangfeng and Yongfeng in the East belong to the West foot of Longquan, while Qinglong, Baosheng, Qishan, dengmiao, Xiejia, Yihe and Gongyi in the West belong to Zonggang mountains, all of which are low hills.

Pengshan district belongs to subtropical humid climate zone. The difference of wind altitude is small, and the climate change between regions is small, and the annual temperature difference is less than 2.1 ℃. Its basic characteristics are: mild climate, abundant rainfall, four distinct seasons; no extreme heat in summer, less drought in summer, different degrees of flooding every year; no severe cold in winter, less frost and snow, but more cold wave and low temperature; early rise of temperature in spring, more continuous rain in autumn, fast cooling.

The rivers in Pengshan belong to the Minjiang River system. Fu River and Nan River converge at Xiajiang estuary from north to south, flow into Minjiang River and continue to flow south. The runoff is 13.5 billion cubic meters. In addition, there are more than 80 natural gullies in Pengshan District, of which Maohe, jinyusi and Longxi rivers have a total runoff of 130 million cubic meters.

Pengshan district is rich in mineral resources, mainly including glauberite, gold, pyrite, shale, red stone, clay, sandstone, quartz sand, mineral mountain, coal, natural gas and other mineral resources. By 2000, the proven reserves of mineral resources in Pengshan district are: glauberite reserves of more than 4.089 billion tons, natural gas reserves of 3.58 billion cubic meters, and shale reserves of more than 10 billion cubic meters.
