Tiefeng District Tiefeng district is one of the districts of Qiqihar city. It is located in the east of Qiqihar City, adjacent to Jianhua district and Fuyu County in the north, Wuyuer River in the East, Angangxi District in the South and Longsha District in the West. The district government is located at 164 Longhua Road. The total area is 695 square kilometers. With a total population of 290000 (2010), there are 21 ethnic groups including Han, man and Hui. In 2011, the GDP was 6.9 billion yuan. National Highway 301, Qilin and qizha run through urban and rural areas. Qiqihar railway station, a national special station, is located within the jurisdiction.
Historical evolution
Tiefeng District, formerly known as Tiedong District, means "east of Railway", later changed to Tiefeng district.
After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, in May 1946, the municipal government of Qiqihar divided 11 districts in the former puppet Manchu period into six districts, and most of the areas under the jurisdiction of Tiefeng district are now six districts.
In December 1954, with the approval of Heilongjiang provincial government, Tiedong District was established with all six districts and part of five districts.
In January 1958, Yongding District was abolished and part of it was assigned to Tiedong District. In December of the same year, the city realized "people's communization", transforming the original six districts into 10 communes.
In August 1961, 11 people's communes were adjusted to seven districts, among which Tiefeng district was merged with tietou and Heping communes.
In 1974, biantun commune was put under the jurisdiction of Tiefeng district. In 1978, Zhalong area under the jurisdiction of biantun commune was set up.
On July 7, 2005, the people's Government of Heilongjiang Province approved that Tiefeng District of Qiqihar city was abolished and Tiefeng town was merged into Zhalong township. (80, Heimin District)
