Luxian county is a county under the jurisdiction of Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, located in the south of Sichuan Basin, between 105 ° 10 ′ 50 ″ - 105 ° 45 ′ 30 ″ E and 28 ° 54 ′ 40 ″ - 29 ° 20 ′ 00 ″ n. Evolution of organizational system
Luxian County, formerly known as Jiangyang, has a history of more than 2100 years since it was established as a county government in the sixth year of Jianyuan reign of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty (135 BC). Luxian county was called Luzhou in Qing Dynasty.
In 1908, Yongning road in southern Sichuan was renamed xiachuannan road. The county is located in Luzhou, Sichuan Province, which belongs to Zhili Prefecture.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the Beijing government abolished the Taoist system and Luzhou Zhili Sichuan military government.
In 1913, the system of Daoism was restored, and Luzhou Zhili Prefecture was abolished. Two of them originally belonged to Luxian county and were subordinate to xiachuannan road in Sichuan Province.
In 1914, South Xiachuan road was renamed Yongning Road, and Luxian county was subordinate to Yongning road.
In 1935, the Nanjing national government divided Sichuan Province into 18 administrative supervision districts, and Luxian county was subordinate to the seventh Office of administrative supervision commissioner.
On December 3, 1949, when Luxian county was liberated, the Central People's government decided to divide the former Sichuan Province into four administrative regions, namely, Eastern Sichuan, southern Sichuan, Western Sichuan and Northern Sichuan, under the leadership of the Southwest Military and political Commission. The people's Administrative Office of southern Sichuan is located in Luxian County, and it has jurisdiction over Luxian County, Neijiang District, Leshan District, Yibin district and Zigong City. Luxian County, Fushun County, Longchang County, Hejiang County, Naxi County, Xuyong County, Gulin county and Gusong county are under the jurisdiction of Luxian county administrative inspector office.
In July 1950, Luxian county was divided into cities and counties, and Luzhou city was set up in the urban area and some suburbs of Luxian county. On August 1, the counties and cities worked separately, and the subordinate relationship of Luxian County remained unchanged.
On November 9, 1951, the office of administrative inspector of Luxian County moved to Longchang County.
On February 25, 1952, it was renamed Longchang District Commissioner's office.
On September 1, 1952, the people's Government of Sichuan Province was established, and the four administrative offices of Eastern, southern, Western and Northern Sichuan were abolished. Each special area was under the leadership of the people's Government of Sichuan Province.
On September 24, 1952, Gongshu, Commissioner of Longchang District, moved back to Luzhou city.
In January 1953, Longchang District Office of commissioner was renamed Luzhou District Office of commissioner of Sichuan Provincial People's government, which governs 8 counties and 1 district.
On July 1, 1960, Luzhou special office merged with Yibin special office, which was called Yibin Office of Sichuan Province. It was still in Yibin City, and Luxian county was under the jurisdiction of Yibin special office.
In December 1983, with the approval of the State Council, Luzhou city was changed into a city under the jurisdiction of the province, and the new system of city leading county was implemented. Since then, Luxian county has been under the jurisdiction of Luzhou city.
In June 1996, with the approval of the State Council, Luzhou implemented the zoning adjustment. Six townships including Tongtan, Mituo, Fenshuiling, Shizhai and Kuangchang were designated under the jurisdiction of Jiangyang District, and five townships including Shidong, Hushi, Jinlong, Anning and texing were designated under the jurisdiction of Longmatan district. On December 26, Luxian County moved to Fuji town.
In April 2014, Luxian County adjusted the administrative division of Fuji Town, which governs two communities of Datian and Tianyang and 16 villages of Zhaoyan and Shiya. The adjusted people's Government of Fuji town moved to 43 Datian North Street, and established Yuchan sub district office, which governs 10 communities of original Fuji Town, including Xianghe and Longqiao, and 12 villages of Jiuquhe. Yuchan sub district office is located at 257 Huayuan road number.

The mineral resources of Luxian county are mainly distributed in three NE trending echelon anticlines, namely Xishan, Gufo mountain and luoguan mountain. Coal, quartz sandstone and limestone are rich in resources and good mining conditions. The broad and gentle syncline between anticlines is the main distribution area of brick shale, building sandstone and building limestone. Channel sand and placer gold are mainly distributed in the Quaternary sedimentary strata of Longxi River, Jiuqu River, Maxi River, Hushi River and Tuojiang River Basin, while siderite is accompanied by coal bearing strata of Triassic Xujiahe formation. Natural gas is distributed almost all over the county.
Luxian county is rich in bituminous coal, quartz sand, limestone, natural gas, geothermal and other mineral resources. Among them: bituminous coal resource is 105.98 million tons, with reserves of 67.1 million tons; quartz sand resource is about 2365.53 million tons, with reserves of 356.66 million tons; limestone resource is 184.5 million tons, with reserves of 80.45 million tons.

Luxian county is located on the North Bank of the Yangtze River. There are seven rivers with a drainage area of more than 100km, with a total length of 574km. The county has 613 million cubic meters of surface runoff, 37 million cubic meters of groundwater resources, 21 million cubic meters of exploitable groundwater resources, 91644kw of theoretical reserves of water energy resources, 38496kw of exploitable total, and 31375kw of exploitable total.
The annual average total water resources of Luxian county is 600 million cubic meters, including 40 million cubic meters of groundwater. There are 10509 water conservancy facilities in the county, with a capacity of 200 million cubic meters. Yulong lake, the largest water storage project, has a water surface area of 6 square kilometers and a water storage capacity of 25.1 million cubic meters.
