Xinchang County, located in the east of Zhejiang Province, is subordinate to Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It borders Fenghua District of Ningbo City and Ninghai County of Ningbo City in the East, Tiantai County of Taizhou City in the south, Dongyang City of Jinhua City and Pan'an County of Jinhua City in the southwest, Shengzhou City in the West and North. Historical evolution
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Xinchang County successively belonged to Yue, Wu, Chu and other countries. Since the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Kuaiji County, and from the Han Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, it was a part of Shan county under the jurisdiction of Kuaiji county.
At the end of the Tang Dynasty, warlords separated and supported themselves. In the third year of qianning (896), Qian Liu conquered Yuezhou and established the state of Wu and Yue. Qian Liu, the king of Wuyue, had a long way to Wenzhou from the capital of Qiantang River. He had frequent personnel exchanges and special capital exchanges in the southeast of Shandong, and there was no courier station along the way. So he set up Xinchang County in the second year of Liang Kaiping in the Five Dynasties (908).
In Yuan Dynasty, it was subordinate to Shaoxing Prefecture of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.

In May 1949, Xinchang County was liberated. The county was divided into five districts, with 30 townships and towns under the jurisdiction of 520 Baojia. In June, Baojia system was abolished, and the county was divided into districts, townships and villages. In December, four townships of Huishan, Zhiren, Bahe and caichun in the South District and Jingping Township in the west district were set up. Huishan District was divided into six districts and 36 townships.

In June 1952, daling, jugen, Wuma, Fangquan, Xuexi, Dongcun, Caifeng, Sankeng and JieXi townships under the jurisdiction of dashiju district were designated as Xiaojiang district.
