Liaozhong District Liaozhong district belongs to Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. It is located in the middle of Liaoning Province and the southwest of Shenyang City. It was named because it was in the west of liaojun and east of liaoshui in ancient times. It is between 122 ° 28 ′ E and 123 ° 6 ′ n, 41 ° 12 ′ N and 41 ° 47 ′ n, adjacent to Taian County of Anshan City in the south, Liaoyang City in the East, Heishan County of Jinzhou City in the West and Xinmin City in the north.
Liaozhong district covers a total area of 1646.69 square kilometers. In 2019, Liaozhong district has jurisdiction over 4 sub district offices, 16 towns, 18 urban communities, 23 agricultural communities and 163 administrative villages. With a total population of 533000, it has four rivers including Liaohe River, Hunhe River, Puhe River and Raoyang River, which belong to typical alluvial plain. There are Beijing Shenyang Expressway, dengliao expressway, Benliao Liaoning Expressway and liaoxin expressway, which are connected with central Liaoning Urban Agglomeration and northeast hinterland. It has become a node connecting "great Shenyang Economic Zone hinterland" and "five points and one line coastal economic belt".
Liaozhong district is the first national ecological county in Northeast China. There are Liaozhong Puhe National Wetland Park, the first National Wetland Park in Shenyang and Pearl Lake, the largest plain reservoir in Liaoning Province. Specialties are Hanfu apple, Liaozhong rose, Liaozhong crucian carp, etc.
In October 2018, it was selected as the "top 100 new urbanization quality areas in China in 2018". In 2019, it was listed as the second batch of national agricultural product quality and safety counties.
Evolution of organizational system
The place name of Liaozhong was named after the county was established in 1906, which means "to the west of liaojun, to the east of liaoshui, just in the center". In other words, the town was called ashiniulu town in the old days of the county administration. It is located in the center of the whole Liao Dynasty, so it is called Liaozhong. In other words, it is named because it crosses both sides of Liaohe River and is located in the middle reaches of Liaohe River.
In Shang and Zhou dynasties, there were tribes and villages, belonging to Youzhou and Yingzhou respectively.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to the state of Yan.

In the Qing Dynasty, it was a dependency of Xinmin, Liaoyang, Chengde (now Shenyang), Zhen'an (now Heishan), Haicheng, and other prefectures, prefectures, and counties. On July 27, 1906, Liaozhong County was established, and yunasiniulu town (now Liaozhong town), which was built in the early Qing Dynasty, was used as the residence of Liaozhong County Government. At the beginning of its establishment, the county was under the jurisdiction of Liaoshen Road, Fengtian Prefecture.
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Fengtian province (later changed to Liaoning Province).
In 1931, it was occupied by Japan. During this period, it was still Liaozhong County, belonging to the puppet Fengtian province.
In 1945, after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Liaozhong County government was established, belonging to Liaoning Province.
In November 1948, Liaozhong County People's government was established under the jurisdiction of western Liaoning Province. In 1954, it was assigned to Liaoning Province and was a county under the jurisdiction of Shenyang City. It was exclusive to Liaoyang in 1955. In 1959, it belongs to Shenyang City. In 1964, it belongs to Shenyang. It has been under the jurisdiction of Shenyang since 1969.
In 1999, the people's Government of Liaoning Province approved the abolition of Sifangtai Township and the establishment of Sifangtai town in Liaozhong County.
In 2001, Liaozhong County governed 12 towns and 9 townships.
On December 13, 2002, wubniu Township and Liaozhong town were abolished and Liaozhong town was merged. After the zoning adjustment, Liaozhong town government is located in the chemical industry community neighborhood committee, covering an area of 80.34 square kilometers, with 14 village committees and 20 community neighborhood committees under its jurisdiction. After the adjustment of administrative divisions, Liaozhong County has jurisdiction over 12 towns and 8 townships.
On July 5, 2005, the people's Government of Liaoning Province approved the administrative division adjustment of some townships (towns) in Liaozhong County: xiaobangniu village in yangtubao Township, aosiniu village in suburban township and sunjiawanzi village in Liaozhong County were assigned to Liaozhong town.
In 2006, Liaoning provincial government established Xihe Economic Zone, which included Sifangtai Township, Changtan town and Xinmintun town in Liaozhong County. Later, Xihe economic zone was abolished, and the above towns were under the jurisdiction of Tiexi District.
In 2009, liujianfang Township, Chengjiao Township, yangshibao Township, Laoguantuo Township and panjiabao Township in Liaozhong County were abolished, and liujianfang Town, Chengjiao Town, yangshibao Town, Laoguantuo town and panjiabao town were established respectively, with the administrative regions and government residences unchanged.
In 2010, Liaoning Provincial Government approved to abolish laodafang Township, dahegangzi Township and Niuxintuo Township, and establish laodafang Town, dahegangzi town and Niuxintuo town.
In 2012, the organizational system of Liaozhong town was abolished, and Pudong and Puxi sub district offices were set up respectively with Puhe River as the boundary to implement the street village management system. After the adjustment, the office address of Pudong sub district office was No. 26, Binshui Road, Liaozhong County, and the office address of Puxi sub district office was the former government residence of Liaozhong Town, and Laoguantuo town was abolished. The administrative area under the jurisdiction of Laoguantuo town was divided into xiaozhaimen town. After the adjustment, the government was stationed in Xiaodong community.
In January 2016, the State Council approved the establishment of Liaozhong district from Liaozhong County.
On April 11, 2016, Liaozhong district was officially listed.
In March 17, 2017, with the approval of Liaoning Province, ciyutuo town and Chengjiao town in Liaozhong district were abolished, and ciyutuo street and Chengjiao street were established respectively. It was called liaoshui River in ancient times, also known as xiaoliaohe river. Xihe River is the largest tributary on the left side of the lower reaches of Daling River.
