Alxa economic and Technological Development Zone is one of the 20 provincial key development zones in Inner Mongolia. Alashan economic and Technological Development Zone officially started construction in July 1997, initially known as Wusutu Economic Zone, later as the East West Cooperation Demonstration Zone of township enterprises in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and then developed into the East West Cooperation Demonstration Zone of township enterprises in China. In January 2002, WuSitai economic and Technological Development Zone was approved by the people's Government of the autonomous region as the autonomous region level development zone, named as WuSitai gaozeneng Industrial Park; in January 2005, WuSitai economic and Technological Development Zone was directly under the jurisdiction of the League administration, enjoying the League city level economic management authority; in March 2006, it was approved by the national development and Reform Commission, and named as Inner Mongolia Alashan Economic Development Zone, with a planning area of 124 square kilometers, It has built an area of 30 square kilometers. In accordance with the concept of developing circular economy, the Development Zone optimizes the industrial layout and supporting environment, implements the planning of eco industrial park, builds 12 new and continued key industrial projects in the whole year, completes the investment of 3 billion yuan, and completes 122.95% of the annual plan. Eight projects, including coking phase II of Qinghua Group and 200000 tons of methanol, and 400000 tons of PVC phase I of zhongyanji salt chemical group, have been completed and put into operation Salt chemical industry, coal chemical industry and characteristic metallurgy are the main recycling industries. The development zone is listed as the first batch of circular economy demonstration parks in the region, and Qinghua Group is listed as the second batch of circular economy demonstration pilot units in China.

The development zone aims to build integrated public infrastructure and livable towns, with an investment of 490 million yuan. 19.8 km of urban roads are newly built and reconstructed. The administrative center, Qinghua club, fire station and national tax building are completed and put into use. The tertiary industry in the Development Zone, which is mainly based on modern logistics, is developing rapidly. In particular, the logistics industry and financial service industry grew rapidly. The investment in the construction of the logistics industry was 350 million yuan, the first phase of Qinghua logistics center was put into operation, and the first phase of Dongda logistics center was about to be completed. The railway shipment volume was 1.9 million tons, and the road freight volume was 16.7 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 68.18%. The logistics industry realized an operating revenue of 1.25 billion yuan. The total amount of deposits in the financial industry was 623 million yuan, and the balance of loans was 3.747 billion yuan. The development zone has conscientiously implemented the national and autonomous regional environmental protection policies and made positive progress in energy conservation and emission reduction. The environmental impact assessment report of the overall planning of the development zone was approved by the Environmental Protection Bureau of the autonomous region, and 37 projects were approved by the three-level EIA of the autonomous region, the league and the Development Zone, with the EIA implementation rate of 100%. 114 local coke ovens were banned in accordance with the law, four cement enterprises were comprehensively renovated and technically transformed, and all ferroalloy and calcium carbide enterprises were eliminated
