Lufeng is one of the counties in hailufeng revolutionary base, one of the 13 old revolutionary bases in China. As early as 1921, the people of Lufeng followed the revolutionary pioneer Peng Pai to carry out the practice of proletarian revolution. The strata are mainly formed by neocathaysia (225-70 million years ago) and east-west tectonic movement. The earliest geological age is Triassic, then Jurassic and Quaternary. The rock is mainly composed of granite, sand shale and quaternary alluvial gravel. The soil is fertile with many types. There are mainly paddy soil, southern mountain meadow soil, yellow soil, red soil, red soil, vegetable garden soil, tidal sand soil (River alluvial soil), coastal saline marsh soil, coastal sand soil, stone soil and other 10 soil types and 70 soil species, with flat terrain. The highest mountain range in the city is less than 1000 meters. There are only three mountains above 700 meters. One is emeizhang mountain range, which is located in the east of the city. There are 22 rivers in Lufeng City, with a total length of 458km and a total runoff of 2.358 billion m3. There are 235 large, medium and small reservoirs with a total capacity of 382 million m3. The main rivers are Luohe River, Wukan River, Aojiang River and Longtan River. The main reservoirs are Longtan Reservoir, Xiangkou reservoir, Wulipai reservoir, tuotouwei reservoir, Sanxi Reservoir and niujiaolong reservoir. Among them, Luohe River is 102km long and originates from sanshenconvex mountain at the junction of Luhe county and Zijin County. It is the largest river in Lufeng, with a rainfall collection area of 1356km2. Longtan Reservoir is located in the east of the city, 43km away from the central city. It was built in 1959. The reservoir is one of the national large-scale water storage projects, with a rainfall collection area of 156.03km2, a total designed reservoir capacity of 105 million m3 and an irrigation area of 12900 hectares. Lufeng is abundant in water. The total annual surface water runoff of the city is 3.896 billion m3, with an average of 7346 m3 per 1 / 15 hectare of cultivated land. At the same time, there are 490 million m3 of groundwater, geothermal water (also known as hot spring) and mineral water. The water quality is good and the water resources are abundant.
