Jinzhou District Jinzhou District, subordinate to Dalian City, Liaoning Province, is located in the south of Liaodong Peninsula and the middle of Dalian city. In 2018, Jinzhou District administer 25 streets, with an area of 1850 square kilometers and a registered residence population of 1 million 100 thousand (2018).

Jinzhou district is the root of Dalian's history and culture. The origin of Jinzhou place name: first, it originated from the Jinzhou Acropolis built in Hongwu year of Ming Dynasty. In fact, Jinzhou place name first appeared in the third year of jinzhenyou; second, it got its name because it was close to Jinzhou Bay.
From the Warring States period to the unification of the six states by Qin Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Liaodong county.
In 107 BC, the Western Han Dynasty set up Dashi County in Liaodong, which was the first county in Jinzhou history. According to the summary of Fang Yu who read history in the Qing Dynasty, "the city of Da Shi is in the southeast of Wei (Jinzhou)". In April 1981, the Ninth National People's Congress was held in Jinxian County, and it was decided to change Jinxian county reform committee into Jinxian County People's government.
On September 25, 1984, with the approval of the State Council, Dalian city began to build Dalian Economic and Technological Development Zone in maqiaozi village, Dagushan Township, Jinxian county. It is located in maqiaozi village, Dagushan Township, Jinxian County, with a long-term planning of 20 square kilometers.
On October 15, 1984, the Management Committee of Dalian Economic and Technological Development Zone was established as the agency of the municipal government.

In the spring of 1948, 14 villages were set up in the northeast of Dengshahe district. In March of the same year, liujiadian district was abolished. Xiajia, Santaizi and liujiadian administrative villages in the north of liujiadian District belong to erlipu district. The two administrative villages of Longwangmiao and yanjialou in erlipu district were set out, and the seven administrative villages in the south of liujiadian district were set up as suburban areas. After the adjustment, Jinxian county has jurisdiction over 14 districts and 108 administrative villages. On February 25, 1949, 13 villages in the north of liangjiadian district were designated and huajiatun district was added. On September 5, Changshan Archipelago was designated by Jin county to establish Changshan County. On September 29, Jinzhou City (a city under the jurisdiction of a county) was established by the merger of the urban and suburban areas of Jinzhou. After the adjustment, Jinxian county is divided into 1 city and 12 districts, with jurisdiction over 8 squares, 8 towns and 170 villages.

On September 9, 1955, the administrative region of Jinxian County resumed its appellation according to place names, and the scope of the administrative region remained unchanged. The first district was renamed Jinzhou town.
In February 1956, the district was withdrawn and the village was divided into townships. The original 13 districts were abolished and 193 villages were divided into 33 townships and 2 towns. People's committees are set up in each township. In May of the same year, Jindingshan township was merged into liangjiadian town and Haitou Township into Dengshahe town. On October 8 of the same year, Bali township was merged into Jinzhou town. By December of the same year, the district level system was abolished. After the adjustment, there are 4 towns and 31 townships in the county, with 8 streets and 185 villages under its jurisdiction.
On June 13, 1958, the original 35 townships and towns were merged into 12 large townships and large agricultural cooperatives. In September, on the basis of townships and agricultural communities, 12 people's communes were built, including Jinzhou Town, Dagushan, dongjiagou, Dalijia, liangjiadian, sanlibu, daweijia, Dengshahe, huajiatun, xingshutun, Shilibu and Dalian Bay.
