History of construction
According to archaeological findings, people lived in Pingqiao District (formerly Xinyang County) during the Neolithic period.
In the Western Zhou Dynasty, King Xuan granted the land of Xinyang Shenbo, which was called "Shenbo". In the spring and Autumn period, Chu destroyed Shen. Xinyang is the place of Chu and Ming.
Yiyang township of Qin Dynasty belongs to Nanyang County.
In the early Han Dynasty, the territory belonged to Anchang County of Runan County in the north, Yiyang township of Pingshi County of Nanyang County in the west, and MengWu and Zhongwu counties of Jiangxia County in the southeast.
From Nanyang County, Wei set up Yiyang County (Anchang city), led Yiyang County, and then abolished it.
In the early Jin Dynasty, Yiyang County was restored in the territory, leading juexi County, Pingshi county and Yiyang County. During the reign of emperor Huidi, Yiyang County was transferred to Renshun city (now Xinyang City), and the county administration began to be the same as the city.
In the northern and Southern Dynasties, the overseas Chinese set up the Sizhou, also known as "Shenzhou", which led 20 counties of Yiyang, Suiyang, Anlu and Runan, and served as the prefectures, Yiyang counties and counties.

In the Yuan Dynasty, it was the government of Xinyang prefecture (later reduced to prefecture) and Xinyang County.

In the Qing Dynasty, it was ruled by Xinyang Prefecture and Buling County along Meiji. During the reign of Kangxi, it was set up to patrol nanru Guangxi soldiers to prepare roads. Guangxu did not change nanru Guangbing to prepare roads, leading runing Prefecture, Nanyang Prefecture, Guangzhou Zhili Prefecture and Xichuan Zhili hall.
In 1913, Xinyang Prefecture was changed to Xinyang County, which was subordinate to Henan road. In 1938, Southern Henan was occupied by the Japanese, and the people of Southern Henan were led by the Communist Party of China to establish the Anti Japanese base area. In October 1948, the Kuomintang Henan provincial government moved to Xinyang City. On April 1, 1949, Xinyang was liberated and divided into Xinyang County and Xinyang City. Tianmu Mountain, also known as Tiemu mountain. Located in Xingji Town, 70 km northwest of the District, Tongbai mountain ranges in the West and Queshan mountain in the north. The main peak is 812.5 meters above sea level and covers an area of about 20 square kilometers. The mountain is mainly composed of granite and gneiss, with a small amount of crystal stone, flower schist, Shangshui stone and Yudang. It is said that Jin Zu Ti once avoided chaos in this mountain, and the idiom "Wen Ji Qi Wu" originated from it. The mountain peak is high and steep, with rocks standing upright, crouching like tiger, leopard and human. There are 3867 hectares of forest farms in this mountain. In March 2014, it was identified as a national forest park.
Zhenlei mountain, located in the southeast of Xinyang City, on the South Bank of Shihe River, at the junction of Pingqiao street and dongshuanghe Town, Shihe District, belongs to the Dabie Mountains. It is 3 kilometers away from the center of Xinyang, covering an area of 50 square kilometers. There are many natural landscapes, such as Shuangrufeng, leiqishi and so on. In July 2004, it was identified as a provincial forest park.
