Zouping Zouping, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, is managed by Binzhou City. Zouping is located in the north central part of Shandong Province, adjacent to the Yellow River in the northwest. Zouping is located in the overlapping zone of Yishan District in central Shandong and the Yellow River floodplain in northern Shandong, with high terrain in the South and low terrain in the north. Zouping has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. The total area of the city is 1250 square kilometers.
Zouping is one of the nine counties in the history of Qilu. Zouping was established in the Xia Dynasty as the Marquis of Zou and established in the Western Han Dynasty. Zouping is adjacent to Zibo in the East, Jinan in the west, Jiaoji Railway in the south, the Yellow River in the north, and Jinan Qingdao Expressway crossing the whole territory for 26 kilometers. It is 62 kilometers away from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport and 240 kilometers away from Qingdao. In 1991, an ancient city site belonging to Longshan culture was discovered in the territory, which pushed forward the history of Chinese characters for 800 years There are more than 80 scenic spots in the park, such as hepanshan National Forest Park, Tang Li'an, Dinggong site, Wangbo uprising site, and Fangong temple.
In 2019, Zouping City governs 11 towns and 5 streets with a permanent resident population of 803500, realizing a GDP of 55.426 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry is 3.05 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry is 29.126 billion yuan, the added value of the tertiary industry is 23.25 billion yuan, the three industrial structure is 5.5:52.6:41.9, and the per capita GDP is 68775 yuan, which is converted into 9970 US dollars according to the average annual exchange rate.
Historical evolution
In the Western Han Dynasty, Zouping County was set up to govern the present Sunjia town. It is located in liangzou County, where it is now located in jiukou village, Handian town. In the sixth year of emperor Gaodi (201 BC), Liu Bang granted Wuhu the title of Marquis of Liang Zou and established the Marquis state in Liang Zou. It is located in Lingxian County, where it is now located in Gucheng village, linchi town. Chaoyang County is located 15 miles southeast of the old Yan'an village in today's dock town, which is historically known as the King City of Wei. It is located in Huagou village, Huagou Township, Gaoqing County. It belongs to Qiancheng County, Qingzhou Prefecture.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was Zouping County, liangzou county and Yuling county. Chaoyang County was changed into East Chaoyang County, belonging to Jinan County of Qingzhou. In the seventh year of Yongyuan (1995), Qiancheng county was changed into Le'an county (Linji county is located in the northwest of Gaocheng town in today's Gaoqing County), and dongchaoyang county belongs to Le'an county. Dongzou County lost the examination.
During the Wei period of the Three Kingdoms, Zouping County, liangzou county and Yuling County followed the Han system and belonged to Jinan county. East Chaoyang County belongs to East County.
In Jin Dynasty, Zouping County belonged to Jinan County, while liangzou county and dongchaoyang County belonged to Le'an state in Qingzhou. Wuling county was changed from Yuling county to Wuling county. It was abandoned and analyzed into Tugu county and Fengling county. After Yongjia, liangzou county was abandoned.
During the northern and Southern Dynasties, Liu Yu, Emperor Wu of Song Dynasty, established Pingyuan County in the hometown of Liang Zou, and then established Pingyuan county. Dongpingyuan County, Qinghe County (now Zichuan county) and Guangchuan county were merged into dongpingyuan county (Changshan County), and Pingyuan county and Wuqiang county were subordinate to it. In the third year of kaihuang (583), Pingyuan County of the Northern Qi Dynasty was transferred to Sunjia Town, the ancient city of Zouping in the Han Dynasty, which was still Pingyuan county. In the early days of kaihuang's reign, dongpingyuan county was abolished, and Jinan county was established in the 16th year of kaihuang's reign (596). In the first year of Jinglong (707), Gaoyuan county was set up in Jiyang County (jiukou) in Zou waste city (Liangzhou) of Han Dynasty and was subordinate to Zizhou. In 820, Jiyang County entered Gaoyuan. During the Five Dynasties, Zouping County and Changshan County belonged to Zizhou. Linji county belongs to Qizhou.
In the Song Dynasty, in the first year of Jingde (1004), Zouping County was transferred to the abandoned city of Jiyang County (now jiukou), and the old city of Sunjia town was abandoned. Zouping County and Changshan County are under the jurisdiction of Zizhou, East Jingdong road. In the fourth year of Xianping (1001), Linji county was divided into Zouping and Zhangqiu counties. In February of 1913, the Prefecture was abolished and the system of Taoism was adopted. Zouping County, Changshan County, Qidong County, Lidai North Road. In 1945, Zouping County and Changshan County were subordinate to the tenth administrative supervision district of the first Office (Lubei Office) and Qidong County to the twelfth administrative supervision district of the fifth Office (Luzhong Office). On August 13, 1945, Zouping County and Yaonan county were subordinate to the sixth special office of Bohai administrative office, and Qidong County was subordinate to the second special office of Bohai administrative office. From 1945 to 1946, Zouping County, Yaonan county and Qidong County were subordinate to the third special office of Bohai Administrative Office (also known as Qinghe District). From March to August in 1947, Zouping County, Changshan County and Qidong County belonged to the tenth administrative supervision district.
In March 1949, Zouping County, Yaonan county and Qidong County belonged to Qinghe District of Bohai Administrative Office (the administrative office was located in Huimin County). At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, Zouping County, Yaonan county and Qidong County belonged to the third special zone of Bohai administrative office. In April 1950, Zouping County (based in today's Zouping town) and Yaonan county (based in today's Changshan town) were divided into Zibo special area. Meanwhile, Yaonan county was renamed Changshan County. In June 1953, Zouping and Changshan counties were re assigned to Huimin district (the special office was located in Beizhen). In March 1956, Zouping County and Changshan County were merged into Zouping County (located in today's Zouping town), and Qile county and Gaoqing County were merged into Qidong County (located in today's gaoqingtian town), both of which belong to the special district of benefiting the people. In November 1958, Qidong County was abolished, and its six communes were incorporated into Zouping County, which was subordinate to Zibo district. In 1961, Huimin district was restored (located in North Town). In October, Gaoqing County was restored and three districts of Zouping, Qingcheng, Huagou and heilizhai, were included in Gaoqing County. Zouping County is a special district for benefiting the people. In February 1967, it was abolished. A "Revolutionary Committee for the benefit of the people" was established. In 1978, it was changed into Huimin district administrative office, and Zouping County still belongs to it. On July 10, 1978, the Huimin regional Revolutionary Committee was transformed into the Huimin regional administrative office. In March 1992, Huimin area was renamed Binzhou area, and Zouping still belongs to it. In June 2000, the State Council approved the establishment of Binzhou City. On December 16 of the same year, the inauguration ceremony of the CPC Binzhou Municipal Committee was held. On January 16, 2001, Binzhou Municipal People's government announced that Zouping belonged to Binzhou City.
On July 2, 2018, with the consent of the State Council, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved Shandong Province with the document of Min Han (2018) No. 105, agreeing to cancel Zouping County and establish Zouping City, which is directly under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province and managed by Binzhou City. Zouping city was officially established on October 26, 2018.
