Xingwen County, subordinate to Yibin City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southeast of Yibin City, adjacent to Xuyong County in the southeast, Weixin County in Yunnan Province in the south, Gongxian County in the west, Changning County in the northwest, and Naxi District of Jiang'an and Luzhou City in the north, with a total area of 1379.89 square kilometers.
Xingwen County has a long history. It is the place where Bo people lived and died in ancient times. It is the county with the largest Miao population in Sichuan Province. It is the main birthplace of early revolution in southern Sichuan, the route for the Red Army to fight against Japan in the north, and the main source and battlefield for the Red Army's guerrilla column in the Sichuan Yunnan Guizhou border region. Wannian Yuanli records that in the first year of Wanli (1573), the Ming army annihilated the Bo people, occupied 6 townships of Shandu, built Wuning city in the middle of 6 townships of Shandu, and ordered the commander-in-chief of Sichuan to stay here temporarily. In February of the second year, Renzi was appointed to change Rong County into Xingwen County by Emperor mingshenzong, which means "Yanwu Xiuwen".
History of construction
Xingwen County has a long history. In the second year of Yifeng (677), Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty, Jimi Yanzhou was set up, and then Songzhou and Yuezhou were set up one after another.
In 1074, Shenzong of the Northern Song Dynasty set up the state of Huihui, and later became the capital of Daba.
In the 22nd year of the reign of emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty (1285), the military and civilian government of Daba was set up in Rongzhou.
In 1371, Emperor Taizu of Ming Dynasty was reduced to Rong County. In the first year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1573), the Han Bo nine silk war led to the disappearance of the ancient Bo people.
In 1644, both Luzhou Wei and Jiuxing chief officers were occupied by Zhang Xianzhong's peasant army. The following year, the history of Ming Dynasty changed, and Qianshu guerrilla horse tried to expel the peasant army. At the beginning of the reign of emperor Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty, Xuzhou was controlled by Zhang Xianzhong's Daxi regime and Nanming regime. In the sixth year of Shunzhi (1649), the Qing army captured the Xuzhou capital, and Xingwen County was subordinate to the Xuzhou capital of Sichuan Province. In the ninth year of Shunzhi (1652), Xuzhou capital was again controlled by Nanming regime; in the 16th year of Shunzhi (1659), the Qing army captured Xuzhou capital again. In 1661, Wang Xingxian, the first magistrate of Xingwen County, took office.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the county government of Xingwen built its own government and moved it back to Yanyang town (now bowangshan town). Because of the abolition of the system, the county was under the jurisdiction of Xuzhou Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
In 1913, because of staying in the province, setting up the road and cutting down the government, it was under the jurisdiction of xiachuannan road in Sichuan Province.
In 1914, xiachuannan road was changed to Yongning road.
At the beginning of the fifth year of the Republic of China (1916), Xingwen County was the military defense area of Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou.
In 1929, the system of Taoism was abolished and Xingwen County was directly under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province.
In 1935, it belonged to the sixth administrative supervision area of Sichuan Province until liberation.
