Sanmen County Sanmen County, belonging to Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the northeast coast of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. Tiantai Mountain in the west, Sanmenwan in the East, Ninghai County in the north and Linhai City in the south. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The central and western regions are low mountains and hills, and the eastern region is coastal plain.
In 1928, the Communist Party of China launched a peasant armed uprising near the pavilion and established the first Soviet regime in Zhejiang Province, which was liberated on February 17, 1949. As of 2014, the county covers an area of 1510 square kilometers, including land area of 1103 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 6 towns, 1 Township and 3 streets, with a total population of 438000.
In 2017, Sanmen County achieved a GDP of 21.049 billion yuan, an increase of 7.8% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 2.977 billion yuan, that of the secondary industry was 7.722 billion yuan, and that of the tertiary industry was 10.350 billion yuan, up 4.5%, 8.3% and 8.3% respectively.
In December 2019, it will become a pilot unit for the construction of national rural governance system. On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the list of national health towns (counties) to be reconfirmed in 2019.
Historical evolution
Sanmen County has been inhabited by human beings since the Neolithic age. In Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, Ouyue was located. The spring and autumn and Warring States belong to the state of Yue. In 306 BC, Chu destroyed Yue and belonged to the state of Chu. In the Qin Dynasty, Sanmen was subordinate to Minzhong Prefecture.
In the third year of emperor Huidi of Han Dynasty (192 BC), Sanmen County belonged to the state of Dongou. In the sixth year of Jianyuan, Sanmen County belonged to Kuaiji county. In the second year of the first Yuan Dynasty (85 BC), Sanmen belonged to Huipu county and Kuaiji county. During the reign of Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25), Sanmen belonged to Zhang'an county.
During the period of Emperor Wu of the Three Kingdoms (222-252 A.D.), Linhai county was established. Sanmen belonged to Linhai county and Kuaiji county. In the second year of Taiping of Wu Shaodi (257 A.D.), Linhai county was set up in the east of Kuaiji County, and Sanmen belonged to Linhai county.
In Sui Dynasty, the county was abandoned as a state, and Linhai county was changed into Chuzhou. Sanmen belonged to Linhai county and belonged to Wuzhou. In the first year of Daye of emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty (AD 605), the Prefecture was changed to county, and Sanmen belonged to Yongjia County.
In 618, Linhai county was changed into Haizhou, and Sanmen was subordinate to Haizhou in 621. In the fifth year of Wude (622 AD), Haizhou was changed to Taizhou, and Sanmen belonged to Taizhou. In the first year of Zhenguan (627 AD), Taizhou belonged to Jiangnan Road. In the first year of Qianyuan reign of emperor suzong of Tang Dynasty (785), Linhai county was renamed Taizhou, which belonged to Zhejiang Province.
In the seventh year of Xining reign of emperor Shenzong of Song Dynasty (1074 AD), it was divided into two Zhejiang roads: East Zhejiang Road and West Zhejiang Road. It was divided into two counties, Linhai and Ninghai, and belonged to Taizhou.
In 1277 ad, Taizhou was changed to Taizhou Road, which belonged to Zhedong road of xingzhongshu province.
The system of local government district in Ming Dynasty was inherited from Yuan Dynasty, and Taizhou road was changed into Taizhou government.
Following the Ming Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty set up four roads: Hangjiahu Road, ningshaotai Road, jinquyan road and wenchudao road. The three roads belong to Linhai county and Ninghai County, and belong to ningshaotai road in Zhejiang Province.
During the period of the Republic of China, Sanmen belonged to Linhai and Ninghai counties. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940 AD), Sanmen County was set up, which was subordinate to Taizhou administrative supervision district.
Sanmen was liberated on February 17, 1949. It was the first liberated County in Zhejiang Province and was subordinate to Taizhou. On May 22, 1954, Sanmen County was put under the jurisdiction of Ningbo. In July 1957, Sanmen County was restored to Taizhou. In May 1983, Shaliu commune of Ninghai County was assigned to Sanmen County. In August 1994, with the approval of the State Council, Taizhou withdrew its land to build a city, and Sanmen County has been under the jurisdiction of Taizhou since.

Under the influence of marine monsoon, the precipitation is abundant, with an average annual precipitation of 1645.3 mm. The precipitation varies greatly from year to year, with an interannual difference of 1200 mm. There are two relatively rainy seasons and two relatively less rainy seasons in the annual precipitation variation, showing a bimodal distribution. The first rainy season is from March to June, the relative light rain period is from July, the second rainy season is from August to September affected by typhoon, and the second relatively light rain period is from October to February of the second year. Qiushui mountain area has the most abundant precipitation, which is the rainstorm center of Sanmen County, with an average annual precipitation of about 1700mm. The rivers in Sanmen County are short and small, the catchment area is small, the water level changes obviously in season, it is easy to rise and fall, and the downstream is easy to be affected by tides. There are seven main rivers, Qingxi, zhuyou, tingpang, touao Yuanli, Baixi, Huaqiao and Shanchang, which flow into Qimen port, Haiyou port, Jiantiao port, Puba port and Donggang respectively, so it is called "seven rivers and five ports". The total length of the stream is 110.9 km, and the drainage area is 562.58 square km.

The sea is located in the northeast, East and southeast of Sanmen County, with a total area of 481.7 square kilometers, accounting for 31.9% of the total area of Sanmen County. It is within 100 km from Ningbo Airport and Luqiao airport. In 2009, the Ningbo Taizhou Wenzhou Railway was officially opened to traffic. In 2013, Sanmen County formed a "three vertical and one horizontal" county transit traffic network. With good shipping conditions, Sanmen County is one of Taizhou's water transportation centers, and its cargo ships can directly reach Ningbo, Shanghai and other Southeast Coastal Ports and surrounding countries.
