Fuyang District, Fuyang District, known as "Fuchun" in ancient times, is located in the northwest of Zhejiang Province and southwest of Hangzhou city. The Fuchun River runs through the whole area obliquely, presenting the pattern of "eight mountains, half water, half field". It is adjacent to Xiaoshan District, Shaoxing City and Zhuji City in the East, Tonglu County in the south, Lin'an District in the West and North, Yuhang District and Xihu District in the north. The total land area is 1821.03 square kilometers.

Fuyang county was established in 221 BC. In 1994, the county was removed to establish a city. In 2014, the city was removed to establish a district. Historical evolution
Fuyang county was established in the 16th year of the reign of the king of Qin (221 BC), which is the seat of Fuyang district government. When the county was first established, it had jurisdiction over Tonglu, Jiande and other places. Fuyang was called Fuchun in Qin and Han Dynasties.
In the first year of the founding of Xinmang (AD 9), it was renamed zhusui.
In the first year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25), it was renamed Fuchun.
In the fourth year of Wu Huangwu (225 A.D.) of the Three Kingdoms, Jiande, Xinchang (later changed to shouchang) and Tonglu were set up in some counties of Fuchun. In the following year (226 AD), some counties in Fuchun were set up in Xincheng County. The establishment of Fuyang and Xindeng counties started with this.
In the 19th year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (394 AD), Fuyang was renamed in order to avoid the taboo of Empress Dowager Zheng achun, the mother of emperor Jian Wen.

In the first year of Liang Kaiping in the Five Dynasties (907 AD), Zhu Wen, Taizu, changed his name to Xindeng in order to avoid his father Zhu Cheng. In the second year of Liang Kaiping in the Five Dynasties (908 AD), it was renamed Fuchun and still belongs to Hangzhou.
In the third year of Taiping Xingguo (978 A.D.) in the Northern Song Dynasty, it was changed to Fuyang county.
In 1138, the capital of Hangzhou was established in the Southern Song Dynasty, and Fuyang was promoted to Ji county.
The Yuan Dynasty belonged to Hangzhou Road, and the Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Hangzhou government.
During the period of the Republic of China, Qiantang road was first established. In 1927, the abandoned road belonged to the province. In the 27th year of the Republic of China (1938 AD), it was changed to the first administrative region, and then changed many times. In the 37th year of the Republic of China (1948 ad), it was changed to the fourth administrative region.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Fuyang was first affiliated to the Lin'an special office, and in 1952 it became a province directly under the central government. In 1955, it was put under the special administration of Jiande. In December 1958, it was transferred to Hangzhou.
On January 18, 1994, with the approval of the State Council of the people's Republic of China, Fuyang county was abolished and Fuyang City was established. The administrative region remained unchanged and the subordinate relationship remained unchanged. On February 4, the people's Government of Zhejiang Province issued the notice on revoking Fuyang county and establishing Fuyang City. On March 28, Fuyang City held a ceremony to remove counties and establish cities.
On December 13, 2014, with the approval of the State Council, it was agreed to abolish Fuyang City at the county level and establish Fuyang District of Hangzhou city. The former administrative region of Fuyang City is the administrative region of Fuyang district. The people's Government of Fuyang district is located at 25 Guihua Road, Fuchun street.
On February 15, 2015, Fuyang was officially listed as the Ninth District of Hangzhou.

The average time of plum blossom is 25 days. The longest period of Meiyu is in 1996, reaching 44 days. Some abnormal phenomena such as "inverted yellow plum" and "empty plum" appeared in some years. Water resources
Fuyang water system is dominated by "one river and ten streams", with a total of 1372 large and small rivers, with a total length of 2384 km. "One river" is Fuchun River, with a total length of 52 kilometers. The "ten streams" are Luzhu River, songjiaxi River, Huyuan River, Shanxi River, Shangli River, Amaranthus River, Dayuan River, Lishan River, Yushan River and evergreen river. Except for the evergreen River, which goes out to Puyang River in Xiaoshan, the other nine streams all flow into Qiantang River through Fuchun River, with a total length of 311 km.
