Feixian County belongs to Linyi City, Shandong Province. It is located in the central and southern part of Shandong Province, with an area of 1660.11 square kilometers and a population of 850000. It is a satellite city, back garden, water source, energy base and an important place of science and education in Linyi, and also a part of Linyi Urban planning area. Feixian has a long history. In ancient times, it was the land of Dongyi. In the spring and Autumn period, it was called Feiyi. In the Warring States period, it was changed into the state of Wei. In the Western Han Dynasty, it was the hometown of Yan Zhenqing, an outstanding calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty. It was known as "the land of saints and the land of sage Zhong Yu". In modern times, it was the old revolutionary base of Yimeng, where the popular Yimeng Mountain tune was born.
Feixian is located in an advantageous location, with Lanshan in the East, Pingyi in the west, Lanling in the south, Mengshan in the north, Mengyin and Yinan in the northwest to the southeast, and Feicheng in the east to Tanyi and other important industrial towns, which are seamlessly connected with the urban area. Dongcheng new district and economic development zone are close to Linyi western new town and Linyi Beicheng New District, with cross integration of industries, forming a core area of Commerce, logistics and industry. Feixian has convenient transportation, 120 km from Lianyungang and Rizhao Port, 200 km from Qingdao port; Feixian general airport is 30 km from Linyi airport in the East; Beijing Shanghai Expressway, Rilan expressway, 327 national highway, Xinshi railway and Lunan high speed railway connect the whole country, which is Linyi's westward access.
Feixian has a beautiful environment, with Mengshan in the north, green pines and cypresses, and crisscross rocks. In the south, there are hills, in which Xujiaya reservoir is located. Wenliang river flows into Yihe River, which flows through Linyi in parallel with Suhe River originated in Feixian, and finally flows into Yihe River. Feixian is rich in energy. It is the energy core of Linyi's development and operation, with Guodian Feixian power plant, Yimeng pumped storage power station, Linyi Western thermal center and other energy bases.
Feixian County is well-developed in science and education, with Linyi University and Qingdao University of Technology (Linyi) in Feicheng. Feixian is the longevity town of the world, the stone capital of China, the National Garden City, the National Health City, the national advanced county of scientific and technological progress, the best investment city in Shandong Province, the best eco-tourism city in Shandong Province, and the provincial civilized city.
Historical evolution
Feixian has a long history. The discovery and excavation of Dawenkou cultural sites, such as zhaijia village in Shangye town and xingfuzhuang village in Zhutian Town, and Longshan cultural sites, such as xixijiang village in Xinqiao Town and guchuli village in Fangcheng Town, have proved that there were ancestors' activities in the primitive patriarchal clan commune period no later than 4000 BC.
In ancient times, Fei County was the place where the leader of the Dongyi tribe Shao Jin Ji lived.
In 659 B.C., the capital of Lu became the private capital of Ji You (also known as the fief). After the second year of the Duke of Lu Yuan (427 BC), Jisun, a descendant of Jiyou, established himself as the state of Wei according to the city of Wei.
Around the 52nd year of King Zhao of Qin Dynasty (255 BC), the state of Wei was annexed by the state of Chu.
In the 24th year of Qin Shihuang (223 BC), the state of Chu was destroyed by Qin. Two years later, Qin Shihuang unified the whole country and established the Qin Dynasty. The whole country was divided into 36 counties, and Feidi belonged to Xue county.
In the first month of the sixth year of emperor Gao of the Western Han Dynasty (201 BC), Han Xin was granted the title of king of Chu, and Fei Di belonged to the state of Chu. Liu Bang unified the world, enfeoffed the princes, set up counties, and Feidi was Feixian.
In the first year of Wang Mang's new dynasty (A.D. 9), counties were renamed and Fei County was changed into obedient county.
In the sixth year of the reign of Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty (A.D. 30), Philadelphia was transferred to Taishan County, the governor's Department of Yanzhou.
In the third year of Emperor Xian's Jian'an reign (198 A.D.), Philadelphia was transferred to Langya state in Xuzhou.
Shortly after the Yongjia Rebellion (in 311 AD), the Western Jin Dynasty perished, and the area north of huaishui was occupied by the Northern Minority Regimes, such as the former Zhao, the latter Zhao, the former Yan, the former Qin, the latter Yan, and the Southern Yan, which lasted about 120 years. Fei County belongs to Langya county.
After the establishment of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Sima Rui, the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty of the Jin Dynasty, set up Huaide County, belonging to Danyang County, in the third year of Daxing (320 AD) in Jiangcheng County (now Nanjing City), in order to settle the former Langya people and refugees who moved South with him.
After the Xianhe "tuduan" (326-334 AD), Huaide county was renamed as Fei County, with solid soil, belonging to Langya County of Southern Xuzhou. It was abandoned in 438 A.D. in the 15th year of Yuanjia, Emperor Wen of Song Dynasty.

In Yuan Dynasty, there was Zhongshu Province in Shandong Province, which is called Fuli. Fei County belongs to Yizhou, Yidu Road, Shandong Province.
In Ming Dynasty, he changed his career to Zhongshu province. In the first year of Hongwu (1368 AD), Yizhou belonged to Jining Prefecture, the Minister of Chengxuan government of Shandong Province. Five years later, it was transferred to Jinan government. Seven years, belongs to Qingzhou Prefecture. Eighteen years, belongs to Yanzhou Prefecture. Feixian County belongs to Yizhou.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Fei County was still Yizhou, Yanzhou Prefecture. In 1724, Yizhou was changed from Sanzhou to Zhili. Twelve years, Yizhou Sheng Fu, Fei County is Yizhou Fu.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the state capital was abolished and the road was established. Feixian County belongs to Dainan road in Shandong Province and Jining road the next year. In 1925, it was changed to Langya road in Shandong Province. Seventeen years (1928) abandoned Road, Fei County directly under the Shandong provincial government. In 1936, the office of the inspector general was set up. Feixian County is the office of the administrative inspector general of the third district of Shandong Province.
In November 1937, the Joint Village Office of Lintan Feiyi four counties was established in Gouxi village of Shangyan township (now Lanling county). In February 1939, it was renamed as the border liaison office of four counties of Lintan Feiyi.
In July 1939, Fei County Office was established in kangbuzhuang (now Pingyi County), also known as the joint office of the four districts.
In February 1940, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Fei County was established in danfuning Village (now Pingyi County). In June, the north of Ziyang Linyi highway and the west of Wenhe River were designated as Feibei administrative office, belonging to the central Shandong administrative region; the west half road to the south of Ziyang Linyi highway was Feinan County, belonging to the southern Shandong administrative region. In August, linfeiyibianlian county was established in dafengjialouzi (now Yinan county), which belongs to central Shandong administrative region.
In January 1941, Feidong administrative office was established in Xuezhuang. In March, the border liaison office of the four counties of Lintan Feiyi was renamed the Anti Japanese democratic government of the four counties of Lintan Feiyi (hereinafter referred to as the four counties border liaison county).
In May 1942, Feibei administrative office was renamed Feibei County, belonging to the administrative office of central Shandong. In June, feitengbian office, also known as Lunan experimental county, was established in the south of Feinan county and the east of Tengxian county. In August, a temporary fee office was set up. In November, Feixi office was established.
In January 1943, Linxi office was established. In autumn, Feidong County was changed to Feidong County. In October, the feitengbian office was cancelled. Feitengyi office was established, also known as feitengyi county. In November, the Feixi office was withdrawn.
In January 1944, the temporary fee office was abolished. Wenhe county was established. Feinan county was renamed Feixian County. In February, the four counties changed their name from Bianlian county to Zhaozhen county. Linfei yibianlian county was renamed yilinbianlian county. In June, Yilin county was renamed Yilin county. In August, Linxi office was cancelled. Feitengyi county was changed into Shuangshan county.
In October 1945, Yilin county was abolished and most of it was incorporated into Yinan county.
In January 1946, Feidong County and Feibei County merged into Mengshan county. In April, Fei County was renamed Pingyi County. Wenhe County, renamed Fei County, is subordinate to the first special district of Lunan administrative region. Shuangshan county was renamed Lushui county.
In March 1947, Zhao county was divided into two counties, Zhao county and Cangshan County. In October, Baiyan county and Linxi County were established.
In January 1948, Fei County was transferred to the third special district of Lunan administrative region. In July, Fei County was transferred to the fifth Special Administrative Region of central and southern Shandong. In October, Linxi County was merged into Linyi County.
In July 1949, Feixian County was under the jurisdiction of taizao special district of Central South Shandong administrative region.
In May 1950, Lushui county and Zhaowei county were abolished, and Feixian County was transferred to Linyi district.
In August 1953, it was abolished in Baiyan county.
In November 1953, Feixian people's government was renamed Feixian people's Committee.
In March 1967, the Feixian Revolutionary Committee replaced the Feixian people's Committee and was subordinate to the Linyi Revolutionary Committee.
In July 1978, Fei County Revolutionary Committee was affiliated to Linyi administrative office.
In May 1981, Fei County Revolutionary Committee was renamed Fei County People's government.
In December 1994, Linyi administrative office was changed into Linyi City, and Feixian County still belongs to it.

At the beginning of 1996, Feixian County had an area of 1927.9 square kilometers and a population of 901000. It has jurisdiction over 7 towns and 18 townships. The county government is stationed in Feicheng town. On May 24, 1996, Zhutian township was abolished and Zhutian town was established (luzhenghanmin Zi No. 26). On June 4, 1996, Wanggou Township and Xinzhuang Township were abolished and Wanggou town and Xinzhuang Town (luzhenghanmin Zi No. 29) were established.
On May 19, 2000, Liuzhuang township was abolished and Liuzhuang town was established; Xinqiao township was abolished and Xinqiao Town was established (LUZHENG Hanmin Zi No. 40). So far, Feixian County has jurisdiction over 12 towns and 13 townships.
