The landforms in the area can be divided into three types according to their forms and causes
River Valley terrace
Floodplain: symmetrically distributed along both banks of Weihe River, divided into high and low floodplain. The low floodplain is 0.5-1.5m higher than the riverbed. The high floodplain on the north bank is wide, and the high floodplain on the south bank is narrow, generally 1.5-2.5 meters higher than the riverbed. The floodplain formed by high and low floodplain is higher in the West and lower in the East, with a slope of 2.2 ‰.
The first terrace is distributed intermittently along the wide valley section on both sides of the Weihe River. The terrace is widened from west to East, with a width of 0.3-2.2 km. The ground is gently inclined to the riverbed (2-3 °), 2-10 m higher than the normal water level of the Weihe River. The terraces of Qingjiang River are distributed in the East Bank of the river with a gradient of 8 ‰.
Second terrace: it is distributed on both sides of the Weihe River, 10-25m higher than the normal water level of the Weihe River, with narrow terrace, generally 0.2-0.6km wide. The front edge of the terrace is connected with the first terrace, and the back edge is bounded by the remnant.
Hilly area
It is mainly distributed in the south of Weihe River, between 650-850 meters above sea level. In front of the northern slope of the Qinling Mountains, due to long-term water cutting, the ground, which used to be a terrace, has now become a mound. The density of the gully is high and it cuts into the bedrock. With the continuous development of gullies, slope collapses and landslides occur from time to time. Huangjiashan, dengdeng temple, lijiacao and fengjiayuan are the main stations.
