Weihai Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone Weihai Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone (formerly known as Weihai Industrial New Area) is located in the central part of Weihai City and the center of Weihai urban agglomeration. The total area under the jurisdiction is 297km2, and the planned construction land area is 78km2. Its predecessor, Weihai Industrial Park, was established in 2006 with the approval of Shandong Provincial People's government and reported to the State Council for the record. As a new industrial district planned and constructed by Weihai municipal government, Weihai Industrial new district is a new district with the largest planning area, the highest planning and construction standards and the most development potential in Shandong Peninsula.
