Taishan District Taishan District, belonging to Tai'an City, Shandong Province, is located in the middle of Tai'an City. It borders on Taishan in the north, Daiyue in the East, West and south, Licheng and Changqing in the north, with a total area of 336.86 square kilometers. It is the political center, economic center and traffic center of Tai'an City.
Taishan District is the residence of Taian municipal Party committee and government with a long history. It has entered the flourishing period of Dawenkou Culture in 5000 BC. In the early Western Han Dynasty, Taishan county was set up, Daiyue town was set up in Jin Dynasty, and Taian Prefecture was set up in Qing Dynasty. Taishan Mountain is known as "national mountain" and "holy mountain", which is the world's first natural and cultural "double heritage" and World Geopark; Dai Temple, one of China's four major ancient architectural complexes, is the place where emperors of all dynasties held the ceremony of offering sacrifices to Taishan God.

Historical evolution
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, the state of Qi set up Boyi in the territory.
Boyi was changed to Boyang County in the Qin Dynasty, Boyan County in the early Han Dynasty, and Taishan County governed Boyan county. In the sixth year of Yuanfeng reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (110 BC), Taishan county was moved to fenggao (now Guxian village, Fan Town, Daiyue district).
During the Northern Wei Dynasty, Bo county was changed into Boping County, and the Taishan county was moved to Boping.
During the Northern Qi Dynasty, Boping county was replaced by Boxian County, Taishan county was abolished and Dongping county was established.
In 581, Dongping county was abolished. In 596, Bo county was changed into Wenyang County, and then Bocheng county.
The first year of Qianfeng (666) in Tang Dynasty was changed to Qianfeng county. In 668, Bocheng county was rebuilt. In the first year of Shenlong (705), it was changed to Qianfeng county.
In the fifth year of Kaibao of Song Dynasty (972), Qianfeng County moved to Daiyue town (today's Taicheng).
In 1008, Qianfeng county was changed to Fengfu county.
In 1136, Tai'an army was set up in Fengfu area, which was named after Tai'an. Jin Dading 22 years (1182), promoted to the state.
In the 13th year of Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1735), it was promoted to prefecture and set up Taian Fuguo county.
In 1913, the government left Taian County.
After the founding of new China, Taicheng was the site of Taian special office and Taian County.
In June 1958, Taishan City was established in Chengguan town and surrounding villages. On November 29 of the same year, Taishan City and Taian County merged to establish Taian city.
In April 1963, the city was withdrawn and the county was restored.
In March 1982, Tai'an County was transformed into Tai'an City.
In March 1985, the State Council approved the abolition of Tai'an district and the establishment of Tai'an City (prefecture level). The former Tai'an City (county level) was divided into Taishan District and suburb (changed to Daiyue district in 2000).

When the district was established in 1985, it had four offices, namely daimiao, Caiyuan, Taiqian and ZHOUDIAN, and six townships, namely xiaoxinzhuang, huangshantou, dajinkou, xujialou, Shanggao and sangjiatuan.
In November 1985, xiaoxinzhuang Township, huangshantou Township and Congdian Township were abolished, and sangjiatuan Township and Shanggao Township were merged. The administrative division of the whole district was adjusted to four sub district offices of daimiao, Caiyuan, Taiqian and Congdian, and three townships of dajinkou, xujialou and Shanggao.
In June 1999, Shengzhuang town and qiujiadian town were transferred from suburb to Taishan District, and ZHOUDIAN sub district office was transferred to suburb. The district governs three sub district offices of Caiyuan, daimiao and Taiqian, two towns of Shengzhuang and qiujiadian, and three townships of Shanggao, xujialou and dajinkou.
In June 2002, Shanggao Township and xujialou Township were abolished and Shanggao sub district office and xujialou sub district office were established.
In 2005, Taiqian neighborhood committee, Yingsheng neighborhood committee, Aiwa village and shangliyuan village of dajinkou Township and Taiqian office were assigned to Taishan scenery and cultural relics management committee.
As of May 2017, it has jurisdiction over 5 sub district offices of daimiao, Caiyuan, Taiqian, Shanggao and xujialou, and 2 towns of Shengzhuang and qiujiadian. There are 187 villages and communities in the District, including 115 villages and 72 communities.

The cultivated land and forest land in Taishan District are secondary vegetation. The zonal vegetation is broad-leaved deciduous forest and temperate coniferous forest, and the representative tree species are pine and oak. Conifer species are Pinus tabulaeformis and Platycladus orientalis, broad-leaved species are Quercus acutissima and Quercus variabilis, and other species are Robinia pseudoacacia, Populus tomentosa, Paulownia and fruit trees. The forest coverage rate is 47%, the vegetation area accounts for 81% of the total land area, the natural vegetation area accounts for 41%, and the seasonal vegetation area accounts for 44%. The ratio of natural vegetation to artificial vegetation is 41:59.
Weeds are the main plant species and widely distributed.
