Jianhu County Jianhu County, located in the hinterland of Lixiahe River in Northern Jiangsu Province, belongs to Yancheng City. Its geographical location is 33 ° 16 ′～ 33 ° 41 ′ N and 119 ° 33 ′～ 120 ° 05 ′ E. The total area of the county is 1154 square kilometers, of which the land area is 906 square kilometers, accounting for 78.1%, and the water area is 254 square kilometers, accounting for 21.9%.

In September 1941, Yancheng county was divided into counties, and Jianyang county was established in the north. Because of the same name as Jianyang County in Fujian Province, it was renamed Jianhu County in July 1951. The name of "Jianhu" came from the first words of Jianyang and Huduo (now near Lake) towns in the County.

Jianhu is located on the shore of the Yellow Sea, backed by the northern Jiangsu Plain, known as the "Pearl of water". Jianhu is one of the top 100 counties (cities) in the basic competitiveness of county economy in China, and it is also a civilized county in China. Jianhu County is located in the hinterland of Lixiahe area in the middle and north of Jiangsu Province. It is a famous hometown of acrobatics and Huaiju opera. Xinchang railway, YanXu Expressway and Jianfu Expressway pass through the territory. It covers an area of 1154 square kilometers, including 60700 hectares of arable land and 26700 hectares of water surface. The population is 800 thousand and 600 (registered residence population in 2016).

In October 2017, it was named National Garden County by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development. In October 2018, Jianhu County was selected as one of the top 100 green development counties and cities in China and one of the top 100 scientific and technological innovation counties and cities in China. In December 2018, it won the second batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration cities and counties. On January 9, 2019, Jianhu acrobatics was selected into the list of "hometown of Chinese folk culture and art" from 2018 to 2020. On October 8, 2019, it was rated as one of the top 100 counties and cities with comprehensive strength in China in 2019. Historical evolution

The county was originally a part of ancient Huaiyi. It belonged to the state of Wu in the early spring and Autumn period, Yue in the late Wu Dynasty, Chu in the Warring States period, Donghai in the early Qin Dynasty, Dongyang in the late Qin Dynasty, and Sheyang in the early Han Dynasty. Sheyang and Yandu were divided in the fourth year of Yuanshou in the Western Han Dynasty. Most of the county was under the jurisdiction of Yandu County It belongs to xinlizuoxiang county. In the ninth year of Daye of Sui Dynasty, it belongs to Xin'an, Anle and Sheyang counties. In the eighth year of Wude of Tang Dynasty, Yancheng county was established again. All the counties belong to Yancheng county. In the ninth year of Yongzheng of Qing Dynasty, the northeast part of the county belongs to Funing County.

In September 1941, Yancheng county was divided into counties, and Jianyang county was set up in the north. Because of the same name as Jianyang County in Fujian Province, it was renamed Jianhu County in July 1951 after the initials of Jianyang and Huduo (now near Lake). After the establishment of the county, it was subordinate to Yanfu administrative office, Yanfu District, the fifth administrative region of Jiangsu Anhui border region, Yancheng District of Central Jiangsu administrative office, Yancheng District of Jiangsu Province, and Yancheng District of Jiangsu Province. In 1983, Jiangsu province implemented a new system of prefecture level cities leading counties, and Jianhu County was subordinate to Yancheng City.

Jianhu County is located in the northeast of Jiangsu Province and the Midwest of Yancheng City, with 204 National Highway in the East and Sheyang Lake in the West. Sheyang county is bounded by the north section of liaojiagou, duitang River and Dayang River in the East, the west section of Tanyang River, nancaoyan River, the west section of picha River and Salt River in the south, Baoying County by daaozitang in the southwest, Weidang of Baoying, Huai'an and Funing counties by Sheyang Lake in the West, and Funing County by Jialiang River, manigou River and Yushen River in the northwest. The county is slightly shaped like a mandarin fish with its head facing southwest and its tail facing northeast. Jianhu County was originally a part of the ancient Huaiyi area. The tectonic unit belongs to the Subei depression belt of the Yangtze Huaiyi platform. Due to the different subsidence amplitude of the plain, a series of relative depressions and bulges were formed. Jianhu County is located in the latent bulge section of Jianhu. The line between caoyankou and datuankou was originally the coastline of the Yellow Sea, through which three north-south coastal dunes crossed, and then gradually inundated. The area to the east of the sand dune is alluvial plain, which gradually formed tidal flat after the middle of Ming Dynasty. Salt stoves were set up in the late Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, abandoned stoves were reclaimed in the early Republic of China, and farmland was set up. The area to the west of the sand dune is accumulation plain. The former coastline in the East is along the ridge zone and both sides of zoumagou in the west, and the terrain is slightly higher than that in other areas.

The county is located in the Subei depression of the Yangtze Huaihe platform. This tectonic unit, based on the alternating marine and continental deposits from Sinian to Mesozoic Triassic, occurred in the fault depression of Yanshan movement and continued to modern times. This has a significant impact on the geological structure of the northern Jiangsu Plain, resulting in many NE trending faults and folds, in which faults are the main form of tectonic movement. Under the action of the structure, because of the different subsidence amplitude, the northern part of the plain is Yanfu depression, the southern part is Dongtai depression, and between the two depressions is Jianhu uplift belt. This belt is between 33 ° 10 ′～ 33 ° 25 ′ N and extends along the line of Wuyou Fangqiang in the south, forming a direction of northeast. It has a trend of southward deflection towards the sea area, and then gradually inclines to the East in the area of Longwangmiao in Dafeng City. The belt is a Mesozoic concealed structural belt, which controls the deposition of Late Cretaceous and tertiary. Most of the sections are distributed in Permian and Baixie system. In the East, it is mainly the Sanduo formation of Lower Tertiary system. The original overlying loose layer is 1100-1400 meters, and the original Quaternary overburden layer is 50-200 meters. The county is bounded by Chuanchang River and divided into East and west parts. The east part belongs to coastal plain and the west part belongs to Jianghuai plain.

The stratum is Quaternary overburden, and the lithology is loose clay and sandy clay. The ground endurance is 12 T / m3 ~ 14 T / m3.
