According to Taiping Huanyu Ji, Taihu county is located on the side of Longshan lake. Because there are large and small lakes all over it, and the pronunciation of "Da" is pronounced as "Tai" in the local dialect, it is named "Taihu Lake", which means "Dahu Lake". According to the records of the unification of the emperor and the Ming Dynasty, Taihu County was originally located in Wanshan, with large lakes and small lakes. That is to say, the area of Dahu River and Xiaohu river is now inundated by Huating lake.
