administrative division
Division evolution
When the district was established in 1985, it had four offices, namely daimiao, Caiyuan, Taiqian and ZHOUDIAN, and six townships, namely xiaoxinzhuang, huangshantou, dajinkou, xujialou, Shanggao and sangjiatuan. In November of that year, xiaoxinzhuang Township, huangshantou Township and Congdian Township were abolished, and sangjiatuan Township and Shanggao Township were merged. The administrative division of the whole district was adjusted to four streets, namely daimiao, Caiyuan, Taiqian and Congdian, and three townships, namely dajinkou, xujialou and Shanggao.
In June 1999, Shengzhuang town and qiujiadian town were transferred from suburb to Taishan District, and ZHOUDIAN sub district office was transferred to suburb. The district governs three streets of Caiyuan, daimiao and Taiqian, two towns of Shengzhuang and qiujiadian, and three townships of Shanggao, xujialou and dajinkou.
By the end of 2000, there were 205 village and neighborhood committees in the District, including 146 village committees and 59 neighborhood committees (including 23 residential community committees).
Current situation of regionalization

geographical environment
Location context
Taian city is located in the south foot of Mount Tai in the middle of Shandong Province, adjacent to Jinan City, Zibo City and Linyi City in the East, Jining City in the south, Liaocheng City and Puyang City in Henan Province across the Yellow River in the west, Taishan and Jinan City in the north, between 116 ° 20 ′ - 117 ° 59 ′ E and 35 ° 38 ′ - 36 ° 28 ′ n, with a total area of 7761 square kilometers.
geological structure
The tectonic position of Taishan area belongs to the west of Taian Laiwu fault basin in the northwest of Luxi fault block uplift area of middle paraplatform. Stratigraphic division belongs to Tai'an District, Luxi District, North China stratigraphic area. The exposed strata include Taishan Group of Archean, Cambrian and Ordovician of Lower Paleozoic, and lower Tertiary and Quaternary of Cenozoic.
The structure in the area is mainly fault structure, in which two groups of faults are most developed, namely NE and NNW. According to geomechanical classification, it belongs to two groups of conjugate torsion fracture surfaces of Xinhua Xia system, namely Taishan type and DAYISHAN type. The Nee (Taishan type) faults are Taishan fault and Jiezhuang fault (hidden) from north to South; the NNW (DAYISHAN type) faults are daidaoan fault and Panhe fault from east to west. Taishan fault is a structural framework fault in this area.
NE trending Taishan fault
Taishan fault (belt) is located in the southern foot of Taishan Mountain, which is composed of several parallel faults. Most of them are covered by Quaternary diluvial deposits, only sporadically exposed. Chenjiazhuang fault strikes 70 ° and inclines to the southeast with an inclination of 70 °, dadaoan fault plane strikes 45 ° and inclines to the southeast with an inclination of 87 ° and damazhuang fault plane strikes 47 ° and distributes in gentle wave shape along the strike. The fault section is smooth with argillaceous and calcareous cemented structural breccia, which shows the multi-stage activity characteristics of tension in the early stage and compression torsion in the late stage. The north side of the main fault is the ascending plate composed of metamorphic rocks of Taishan Group, and the south side is the descending plate composed of Cenozoic strata. There are Paleozoic limestone blocks between the secondary faults in the fault zone due to the traction of the two arc-shaped faults.
NNW trending fault
The dadaoan fault (belt) is mostly covered by Quaternary System in the area, and only shows in the north and south ends. The fault zone starts from daidaoan in the north and passes Shanggao town to Jiuxian County in the south. The maximum width of the fault zone is 870m, with strike of 330 ° to 350 ° and dip angle of 70 ° to ne. Panhe fault is also a secondary fault, and its distribution direction is similar to that of daidaoan fault. Panhe river is mainly developed along the fault. The northern end cuts the Taishan fault and extends southward through Lijiazhuang to Qiaogou village in Daiyue district on the South Bank of Wenhe river.
