Bengshan district is located in Bengbu City, Anhui Province. It is the political, economic, cultural, scientific and educational, financial and business center of Bengbu City. The original name of Zhongshi district was changed to its current name after the adjustment of the division in 2004.
Bengshan district is adjacent to Longzihu District in the East, Fengyang County in the south, Yuhui District in the West and Huaishang District in the north. Historical evolution
According to historical records, from the Xia and Shang Dynasties to the early spring and Autumn period, it was inhabited by Huaiyi people. During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it was the capital of Lu, song and Chu. During the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Jiujiang county.
