Jinghu District Jinghu District is under the jurisdiction of Wuhu City, Anhui Province, with a total area of 121 square kilometers. Historical evolution

Jinghu District is the ancient city of Wuhu with a long history. It has been more than 1700 years since Wu Sun Quan moved Wuhu County from Jiuzi in 223.

In 1876, the British imperialists forced the Qing government to sign the Sino British Yantai treaty, which listed Wuhu as one of the trading ports.

In 1877, Britain first set up a consulate on Mount Fanluo. In April of the same year, he negotiated with the Qing government officials about the establishment of Wuhu concession.

On April 24, 1949, Wuhu was liberated. On May 3, 1949, the people's Government of Wuhu divided the whole city into four administrative regions.

On February 9, 2006, Wuhu Municipal People's Government approved the abolition of Xinwu district and Jinghu District and the establishment of a new Jinghu District. The former administrative areas of Xinwu district and Jinghu District, the former Jingshan Town area of Wuhu County, Guangfu and Liantang neighborhood committees of Jiujiang district are under the jurisdiction of Jinghu District, and the district government is located in Beijing East Road.

In April 2006, Jinghu District adjusted 14 streets to 11 (Jinghu, Jihe, Zheshan, yijishan, Tianmenshan, tingtang, zhelu, Beijing Road, Dongmen, Beimen, Jingshan).

In August 2010, the former Fangcun town of Wuhu County was put under the jurisdiction of Jinghu District. At the same time, Fangcun town was abolished and Fangcun street was set up in its original administrative area as the agency of Jinghu District government.
