Yongjia County, a county under the jurisdiction of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, is located in the southeast of Zhejiang Province, on the North Bank of the lower reaches of Oujiang River, adjacent to Yueqing and Huangyan in the East, Qingtian and Jinyun in the west, Xianju in the north, and Wenzhou City across the River in the south. The total area is 2674 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 7 streets, 11 towns and 4 townships. Known as "China's longevity town", "China's valve town", "China's button city", "China's toy city" reputation. It is the fourth largest county in Zhejiang Province and the largest county in Wenzhou. It is also one of the first batch of coastal counties open to the outside world in China, one of China's major cultural tourism counties, one of China's millennium old counties, and one of Zhejiang's old revolutionary base counties.
Yongjia has a long history. It has been more than 1800 years since it was founded. In history, Yongjia County first and then Wenzhou government are the roots of Wenzhou's history and culture. Yongning County was built in the third year of Yonghe (A.D. 138) of Emperor Shun of Han Dynasty, and Yongjia County was renamed in the ninth year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (A.D. 589). In May 1949, Yongjia was liberated and Shuangxi county was established. In September, Shuangxi county was renamed Yongjia County. The former site of Shuangxi county government was the East ancestral hall of Lishui street, Yantou town.
In December 2018, Yongjia County was selected as one of the top 100 county economic investment potential in China. In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area sub County list. Top 100 tourism counties in China in 2019.
In July 2020, Yongjia County was confirmed as the national health county in 2019 by the National Health Council. On October 9, 2020, it was awarded the title of the fourth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration cities and counties by the Ministry of ecological environment.
Historical evolution
Yongjia County has a long history. As far back as the Neolithic age, human beings lived and multiplied here.
In Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, it was ou.
During the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to the state of Yue and entered Chu during the Warring States period.
In the third year of Huidi (192 BC) and Jianyuan (138 BC) of Wudi, Gaozu of Han Dynasty belonged to Dongou state. The capital of the state was in Oubei street of Yongjia County. In the second year of Shiyuan (85 BC) of Zhaodi, it belonged to Huipu County of Kuaiji county. In the first year of Zhangdi Zhanghe (87 AD), it belonged to Dongou township of zhangan county. In the third year of Yonghe of Shundi (138), Yongning County belonged to Kuaiji county.
Wu Taiping two years of the Three Kingdoms (257), changed to Linhai County Yongning County.
In the first year of Taining (323), the Ming emperor of the Eastern Jin Dynasty divided Linhai County into Yongjia County.
In 605, Yongjia County was restored.
In 622 of Wude, Emperor Gaozu of Tang Dynasty, Yongjia County was abolished and set up as dongjiazhou, which is under the jurisdiction of the governor of the prefecture. Nanxi and Xixi townships in Yongjia County were set up as Yongning County.
In the first year of Zhenguan (627), Emperor Taizong abolished dongjiazhou and attached it to kuozhou again. Yongning was incorporated into Yongjia County.
In the first year of Shangyuan (674), Emperor Gaozong of Tang Dynasty analyzed Yongjia and Angu counties from kuozhou, established Wenzhou and governed Yongjia.
In the first year of the reign of Emperor Wu of the Tang Dynasty (689), Yongjia County was established in Lecheng county. The jurisdiction of Yongjia County remained unchanged throughout the Five Dynasties, song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.
In 1948, Wenxi, Shiran and Xi'ao were assigned to Qingtian County.
In May 1949, Yongjia County was liberated. With Oujiang River as the boundary, Wenzhou City is located in the south, Shuangxi county is located in the north, and Yantou town is governed by the county. On September 21, Shuangxi county was renamed Yongjia County and moved to Fenglin town. In June the next year, it moved to Longqiao village, Luofu district. On December 21, it moved to Jiushan (now Wenzhou City).
In May 1950, four districts, Wulong Town, Yongqiang district (now Longwan District), Sanxi district (Quxi Town, Guoxi Town, xiongxi town) and Tengqiao Town, formerly affiliated to Wenzhou City, were assigned to Yongjia County.
In 1958, the four districts returned to Wenzhou City, and Yongjia County moved to Shangtang town.
In 1961, the three townships of Xi'ao, Shiran and Shangheng in Qingtian County were assigned to Yongjia County.
In 2001, Qidu Town was divided into Lucheng District.
In 2016, Yongjia County adjusted the jurisdiction of qiaoxia town to add Jinxi town and Mingao township; adjusted the jurisdiction of Hesheng town to add Yunling township; adjusted the jurisdiction of Yantan town to add Xixia township; adjusted the jurisdiction of xunzhai town to add jiekeng township; abolished Jiangbei street and Dongou street to merge Oubei street.

In early 2016, it obtained the reply of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government on the adjustment of some administrative divisions of Yongjia County, and agreed to adjust some administrative divisions of Yongjia County. After the adjustment, Yongjia County has jurisdiction over 7 streets including Dongcheng Street, Nancheng street, Beicheng street, Oubei street, Wuniu street, Huangtian street and Sanjiang street, 11 towns including Qiaotou town, qiaoxia Town, Yantou Town, Shatou Town, Fenglin Town, Yantan Town, Daruoyan Town, Bilian Town, xunzhai Town, Hesheng town and Jinxi Town, and 4 towns including Yunling Township, Mingao Township, Xixia Township and jiekeng township. The county people's government is located at No. 94, Xianqian Road, Beicheng street, Shangtang central city. Shangtang central city management committee guides and coordinates the construction of village level self financing projects in Dongcheng Street, Nancheng street and Beicheng street.

The average annual temperature is 18.2 ℃, the average annual precipitation is 1702.2 ml, the number of precipitation days is 175.4, the average annual sunshine is 1820.2 hours, the average annual evaporation is 1431.9 mm, and the average frost free period over the years is 280 days.
According to the annual historical records, the annual average temperature is 18.3 ℃. January is the coldest month with an average temperature of 8.1 ℃, and July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 28.3 ℃. The extreme maximum temperature was 42.1 ℃ on July 15, 2003, and the extreme minimum temperature was - 4.8 ℃ on December 23, 1999. In spring, the daily average temperature is stable, and the average warming of 10 ℃ begins on March 18 and ends on December 2. The average frost free period is 281 days, the average first frost day is on December 5, and the average last frost day is on February 22. The annual average precipitation is 1718.3 mm, and the inter annual difference is particularly significant. The maximum was 2592.7mm in 1973 and 1193.6mm in 1986. The average precipitation in August is the most, up to 279.4 mm, followed by June, which is mainly affected by typhoon and Meiyu; December is the least, only 39.2 mm, followed by January. The annual average rainy day is 175 days. The annual average sunshine duration is 1799 hours, of which July and August are the most, with 225.5 hours and 220.0 hours respectively, while February and March are the least, with 96.5 hours and 102.1 hours respectively. The annual average evaporation is 1432 mm. The annual average relative humidity is 77%. The main disastrous weather includes rainstorm, hail, drought, typhoon, flood, lightning and gale.

The annual average amount of water resources in the territory exceeds 3.6 billion cubic meters. The theoretical storage of water resources is 280000 kilowatts, which can be developed to 250000 kilowatts. It is the second batch of electrified counties in China.

Among them, there are 812 scattered ancient trees, 188 ancient trees in 10 places, 80 ancient trees under first level protection, 206 ancient trees under second level protection and 714 ancient trees under third level protection. The oldest tree is cypress in Meitan village of Xiyuan Township, which is more than 900 years old; the largest one is camphor in Yanlong village of pankeng Township, which is 926cm; the largest one is camphor in Xi'ao village of Wuniu Town, which is 40m.

At the end of 2013, the total household number of registered residence in Yongjia was 287 thousand and 300, with a total population of 969 thousand and 500, including 108 thousand and 700 non-agricultural population, 454 thousand female population, 966 thousand and 100 average annual population, 14.3% elderly people aged 60 and above, 0.6 percentage points higher than the previous year. In 2013, there were 13326 births in Yongjia County, including 6019 female infants, with a birth rate of 13.8 ‰; 4473 deaths, with a mortality rate of 4.6 ‰; and the natural growth rate of population was 9.2 ‰, 1.8 thousand points lower than that of the previous year. The sex ratio of male to female was 121:100, compared with 118:100 in the previous year.
The family planning rate of Yongjia County was 82.8%, 0.3 percentage point higher than that of the previous year.

In 2013, the GDP of Yongjia County was 29.191 billion yuan, an increase of 8.0% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 963 million yuan, down 1.1%; the added value of the secondary industry was 17.924 billion yuan, up 8.7%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 10.304 billion yuan, up 7.5%; the structure of the three industries was adjusted from 3.7:61.1:35.2 to 3.3:61.4:35.3. According to registered residence population, Yongjia's per capita GDP is 30216 yuan, an increase of 30 over the previous year.
