Shufu County Shufu county is under the jurisdiction of Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is located in the southwest of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, at the eastern foot of the Pamir Plateau and on the Kashgar oasis on the western edge of the Tarim Basin, with a total population of 254000 and 13 ethnic groups including Uygur, Han, Kirgiz, Mongolia, Hui, Kazak, Uzbek and Tajik.
Shufu County originally belongs to Shule Zhili Prefecture, which is a subsidiary place. The Uyghur language is called "Kashgar kuonaxieher", which means the old city of Kashgar. Also known as tokzak, it belongs to Kashgar in the early Qing Dynasty. The western region atlas is tokkorsak. The western region tongwenzhi is interpreted as: "tok, satiety; kursak, big belly.". The land is abundant, and the people in Jia can have enough food, so it's named That is, to be able to eat (place), which means "rich land, rich people.". Tokzak is now interpreted as "nine pieces of white land", which may be caused by the transformation of voice.
Shufu city is adjacent to Jiashi County in the East, Wuqia County by Gravel Gobi in the west, Shule county and aketao County in the south, and Kalatage mountain, kumatage mountain and Atushi city in the north. The town is 15 kilometers away from Kashi and 1482 kilometers away from Urumqi.
There are 27 categories and 50 varieties of national musical instruments produced by Shufu, covering almost all kinds of Uygur traditional musical instruments. The handicraft of national musical instruments has been listed in the national intangible cultural heritage project. Shufu County, as a state designated open county, enjoys independent import and export trade rights. On January 24, 2020, the people's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region agreed to withdraw Shufu county from the poverty-stricken county sequence.
Historical evolution
In the Han Dynasty, it belonged to the state of Shule.
In Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Shule Dudu Fu.
In the early Song Dynasty, it was the eastern capital of the karahan Dynasty, and in the late Song Dynasty, it was under the control of the Western Liao regime.
In 1762, the Qing government in Kashgar moved to the newly built Laining City, which is located in Erli, northwest of Kashgar City. In 1826, Laining city was destroyed. In 1828, a new city was built in huizhuang, named Huiwu. Shule government, army and warehouse were transferred to the new city, and a county magistrate was set up to govern it, which was called Shule county. It was conventionally called new city or Seoul. The former Shule Prefecture was changed to Shufu County, which was also called old city or Huicheng. In the ninth year of Guangxu (1883), the village in the upper reaches of wulanwusu River (Kezi River) and the brute tribe were delimited, and Shufu county was set up in the Huicheng of Kashgar, which means the affiliated Shule Zhili Prefecture, which belongs to the Shule Zhili Prefecture of Kashgar Road (the former "Huiwu" city, which is now Shule county). Tokzak is one of the nine huizhuang under the jurisdiction of Shufu County, and the Xinjiang atlas is taken as togosak. It successively belongs to Kashgar administrative region, Kashgar special office and Kashgar executive office.

In September 1952 after liberation, Kashi City was established on the basis of Shufu county and Chengguan District.

On November 6, 1982, the Kashgar administrative office decided to put the four communes of Kashgar City, including Haohan, boshikeranmu, Awati and yingwustan, and Hanoi forest farm under the jurisdiction of Shufu county.
In 1996, Shufu County governed one town and 17 townships: tokzak Town, tashimilik Township, wupar Township, blakesu Township, boshikeranmu Township, sayibage Township, Seman Township, tierimu Township, wukusak Township, Haohan Township, Langan Township, yingwusitang Township, wasteland Township, Zhanmin Township, akekashi Township, Awati Township, Mushi Township, pahatakeli township.
On March 1, 1998, with the approval of the regional government, five villages in Haohan Township, boshikeranmu Township, two villages in Awati Township and one village in pahatakeli township of Shufu county were put under the jurisdiction of Kashi City. After the adjustment, Shufu County governs one town and 16 townships: tokzak Town, wupar Township, tashimilik Township, tierimu Township, blakesu Township, sayibag Township, Zhanmin Township, wukusak Township, bihatekli Township, Seman Township, wasteland Township, Langan Township, Mushi Township, boshikelanmu Township, Awati Township, yingwusitang Township and akekashi township.
On August 2, 2004, with the approval of the regional government, Seman Township and wasteland township of Shufu county were put under the jurisdiction of Kashi City. After adjustment, Shufu county has a total area of 3482.94 square kilometers and a total population of 365783. It has jurisdiction over 1 town and 14 townships: tokzak Town, wupar Township, tashimilik Township, tierimu Township, blakesu Township, sayibag Township, Zhanmin Township, wukusak Township, pahatakeli Township, Langan Township, Mushi Township, boshikeranmu Township, Awati Township, yingwustan Township and akekashi township. The county government is located in tokzak town.
On February 24, 2005, with the approval of the autonomous regional government, pahatekli Township and boshikeranmu township of Shufu county were put under the jurisdiction of Kashi City. After the adjustment, the county governs 1 town and 12 townships: tokzak Town, wupar Township, tashimilik Township, tierimu Township, blakesu Township, sayibage Township, Zhanmin Township, wukusak Township, Langan Township, Mushi Township, Awati Township, yingwustan Township and akekashi township.
In 2012, Langan township was abolished and Langan town was established (new policy Letter No. 165); wukusak township was abolished and wukusak town was established (new policy Letter No. 211). After the adjustment, the county governs 3 towns and 10 townships.
In March 2013, the government of the autonomous region (New Deal Letter No. 35) agreed to put Awati township of Shufu County under the jurisdiction of Kashi City. After the adjustment, the administrative area of Shufu County decreased by 87.2 square kilometers, and the population decreased by more than 34000. In 2013, the government of the autonomous region (new political Letter No. 207) approved to put yingwustan township of Shufu County under the jurisdiction of Kashi City. The county governs 3 towns, 8 townships, 4 farms, 127 villages, 10 communities and 894 villager groups, with a total area of 2929.61 square kilometers and a total population of 264000, of which 97.7% are Uygur, 2% are Han and 31919 are urban.
In 2014, the government of the autonomous region (New Deal Letter No. 8) agreed to abolish wupar Township and establish wupar town. On October 21, the government of the autonomous region (Xin Zheng Han 194) agreed to put akekashi township of Shufu County under the jurisdiction of Kashi City.

Shufu county is located at 75.85721 ° e, 39.3789 ° n, with a total area of 3038.77 square kilometers. It is located in the bridgehead and an important transportation hub of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and has been an important town and hub of the ancient Silk Road since ancient times. Shufu county is surrounded by the ancient city of Kashgar, which is 15 kilometers away from the center of Kashgar and 1490 kilometers away from Urumqi. It is adjacent to India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and other eight countries. Shufu county is located in the upper reaches of Kizil River and the alluvial plain of Gaizi river. The terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast. The plain area accounts for 54% and 46% of the total area of Shufu county. The altitude is about 1300 meters.

Shufu county has a warm temperate continental desert climate. There are four distinct seasons, abundant light and heat resources, large temperature difference, drought and less rain. The annual average temperature is 11.2 ℃, the annual precipitation is 72mm, and the frost free period is 220 days.

In 2013, Kezi River, Gaizi River and Tuman River in Shufu County flow through the whole territory, with 3 reservoirs and more than 10 hydropower stations, with an annual power generation of more than 30 million kwh. There are 12717 kilometers of water diversion channels, including 847 kilometers of anti-seepage channels and 207 anti drought wells. Water saving irrigation was carried out for 7000 mu.
By 2013, the water system of Shufu county mainly includes Kizil River (105 km in total length), Gaizi River (74 km in total length), chakmak River and Tuman River. The normal annual total water diversion volume (based on 50% guarantee rate) is 859.3 million cubic meters, plus the spring water volume of 233.3 million cubic meters, the total is 1.093 billion cubic meters, and the per capita water volume is 4013 cubic meters. There are 86 wells and 9 reservoirs available, with an annual water storage capacity of 41.9 million cubic meters. Water energy reserves of 112590 kilowatts, 8887 mu of water can provide fish. The groundwater resources in the plain area of Shufu county are 6.06 × 108m3, and the exploitable resources are about 3.84 × 108m3.
