Jingyan County, subordinate to Leshan City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southwest of Sichuan Basin, between 102 ° 55 ′ - 104 ° 00 ′ E and 28 ° 25 ′ - 29 ° 55 ′ n, with a total area of 840.6 square kilometers. Jingyan county is located in the middle subtropical humid climate zone of Sichuan Basin. The climate is warm and humid, and the rainfall is abundant in the same season, but the distribution is uneven. In ancient times, Jingyan County belonged to the kingdom of Shu. In Han Dynasty, Jingyan town was set up in Wuyang county. In 591, the 11th year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty, Longshan County was set up, and Jingyan county was set up in puting. From the founding of the county in the 11th year of kaihuang (591) of the Sui Dynasty to the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, the county has been expanded for more than 600 years. Lezi Expressway and Renmu new expressway run through the whole area, with G213 line and g348 line crisscross. Jingyan county is the largest dinosaur excavation site in Asia. There is a dragon named Mamen River in Jingyan County, which is now displayed in the Beijing Museum of nature. There are national cultural relics protection units, such as Sanjiang White Tower, Leichang's former residence scenic spot, Xiong Kewu's former residence, Dafo lake, matadao stone bridge, Zhu's festival and filial piety square.
In 2018, the current GDP of Jingyan county was 9.648 billion yuan, which was 7.6% higher than that of 2017 in terms of comparable price (the same below). Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 2.317 billion yuan, an increase of 4.3% over 2017; the added value of the secondary industry was 3.406 billion yuan, an increase of 8.4% over 2017; the added value of the tertiary industry was 3.924 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1% over 2017. In the Han Dynasty, it was set up in Jingyan Town, Wuyang county.
In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, xijiangyang county was established.

In 591, the 11th year of kaihuang reign of Sui Dynasty, Longshan County was established and Jingyan county was established by abolishing puting.
From Tang Dynasty, Song Dynasty to the early Yuan Dynasty, the county expanded.
In the fourth year of Xianping (1001), Emperor Zhenzong of Song Dynasty merged Shijian county (now Zhangjia area of Renshou County) into Jingyan county.
In the 20th year of the reign of emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty (1283), Longzhou Jingyan was merged into Renshou province. It was born in Chengdu Road. The county was one of the four townships of Renshou County, which was called "Laifeng".
In the sixth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, the Taizu, issued an imperial edict to withdraw Laifeng Township from Renshou County and restore Jingyan county. It belongs to Chengdu government.
At the beginning of the reign of emperor Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty, it was returned to Zizhou and belonged to Chengdu Prefecture; in 1727, it was promoted to Zhili Prefecture. Jingyan county belongs to Zizhou Zhili Prefecture.
In 1935, it belonged to the second administrative supervision district (the district ruled Zizhong Chengguan town).
Since 1949, Jingyan county has always belonged to Leshan City (former Leshan area).

In 1986, Jingyan county had 5 districts, 2 towns, 32 townships, 394 villages, 2881 villager groups, 8 neighborhood committees and 35 neighborhood groups. In order to promote the development of commodity economy, strengthen the construction of market towns and give full play to the functions of market towns, Mata town was built in March; Zhuyuan town was built in November, Shiquan town was merged into renmata Town, Wunong town was merged into Wangcun Town, Longtan town into Yanjing Town, and Shima town into Zhoupo town.
In 1989, the establishment of five district offices was abolished, and liaison groups were set up respectively to be agencies of the county Party committee and the county government. At the same time, the research and economic department and Zhoupo removed the township to build the town respectively, and the system of leading the township by the town was implemented.
In November 1991, five District Liaison groups were abolished and offices were established.
In July 1992, Sihe township was merged into Mata town. Meiwang township was merged into Wangcun Township, Guangsheng Township and Shiniu Township into Zhuyuan Town, Nongxin Township into Yanjing Town, Xinxing Township into Gaofeng Township, JINZI Township into Zhoupo town. In October of the same year, Qianfo Township, Wangcun Township, Sanjiang Township and Donglin Township were changed into established towns respectively.
In March 1993, the research and economic office merged into Laifeng office, Zhuyuan office merged into renmata office.
In October 1995, the system of Sihe Township and Shiniu township was restored, and the four villages of Yanjing Town, including Hongqi, Jianguo, Huali and Jianhua, were included in Yancheng town.
In September 1998, the original JINZI township area, the origin of the whole Township, Luojiang, Dali, Tuanjie four villages and the Dafo village of Jinfeng Township were merged to establish the Dafo township.
In June 2000, Mochi removed the township and built a town.
By the end of 2000, Jingyan county had set up 3 offices, 10 towns, 17 townships, 394 villages, 2871 villagers' groups, 22 residents' committees and 96 residents' groups.
In December 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Leshan City to adjust the administrative divisions of some villages and towns in 8 counties (cities and districts), including Shizhong District
(1) Gaotan Township and Yancheng town were abolished and Yancheng street was established. The administrative area of Yancheng street was the former administrative area of gaotan Township and Yancheng town. Yancheng Street office was located at No.7 Minzhu street.
(2) Huangbo Township and Sihe Township were abolished, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Mata town. The people's Government of Mata town was stationed at 41 Jianshe street.
(3) Shiniu Township and Shengquan Township were abolished, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Zhuyuan town. The people's Government of Zhuyuan town was located at 88 Shunhe street.
