History of construction
In the 26th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (221 BC), Luling county was established in Jiujiang county.
In 206 BC, the first year of emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty, it was located in Luling County, Yuzhang county.
In the first year of Xinmang's founding (9 years), it was located in huanting County, Jiujiang county.
In the first year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 years), it was located in Gaochang County, Luling county.

The district government is located in Hedong town.

On November 28, 2011, "Notice of Jiangxi Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on Approving the withdrawal of Wenpi Township in Qingyuan district to establish a town" (GMZ No. 134): with the approval of the provincial people's government, it is agreed to cancel Wenpi Township in Qingyuan district and establish Wenpi town.
