Jiande City, belonging to Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the west of Zhejiang Province, upstream of Qiantang River, bordering Pujiang County in the East, Lanxi City and Longyou County in the south, Qujiang District of Quzhou City in the southwest, Chun'an County in the northwest and Tonglu County in the northeast.
The total area of Jiande City is 2314.19 square kilometers, accounting for 2.28% of the area of Zhejiang Province, 108 kilometers away from Hangzhou Expressway.
The water system of Jiande city belongs to Qiantang River Basin, including Xin'an River and its tributaries shouchang River, Lanjiang River and Fuchunjiang River, as well as 38 small and medium-sized streams. Mountains and hills account for 88.6% of the city's total area. In the north and West, there are sandstones, limestones and shales from Paleozoic to Cenozoic, and in the south, there are hills below 200m.
In December 2019, it will become a pilot unit for the construction of national rural governance system. In July 2020, Jiande City was confirmed as the national health city in 2019 by the National Patriotic Health Association.
Historical evolution
Jiande was the place of Baiyue in ancient times. In the 25th year of the reign of the king of Qin (222 BC), Kuaiji Prefecture was established in the former state of Wu and the state of Yue.
In Xinmang period, Fuchun was changed to zhusui, and it was restored to Fuchun in the early Eastern Han Dynasty.
Han Yongjian four years (129), branch Ji county set up Wu County, Fuchun county belongs to Wu County.
In the fourth year of Wu Huangwu in the Three Kingdoms (225), Jiande county was established in Fuchun, and the county seat was in today's Meicheng, so the name of Jiande began; in the same year, Xinchang County was established in Fuchun, and the county seat was in today's Datong. Both counties belong to Wu County.
In the first year of Taikang (280), Xinchang County was renamed shouchang County, and the name of shouchang began. From the Western Jin Dynasty to the Southern Dynasties, Jiande and shouchang still belonged to Wujun.
In the second year of Liang Dynasty (521), shouchang was transferred to Xin'an County, Chen Shitong. In the Liang Dynasty, Jiande was assigned to Jinhua County, but it was still in Chen Dynasty.
In the ninth year of kaihuang (589), shouchang was merged into Xin'an County (now Chun'an); Jiande was merged into Jinhua County and changed into Wuning County, which was ruled by Wuzhou. Both counties belong to Wuzhou.
In the third year of Renshou (603) of Sui Dynasty, the old city of Xin'an was set up as muzhou to govern Xin'an County.
In the third year of Daye of Sui Dynasty (607), muzhou was changed into sui'an County, and Xin'an County was changed into Zhishan county.
In the fourth year of Wude of Tang Dynasty (621), an County was restored to muzhou, and Yanzhou was established in Tonglu. Jinhua restoration Jiande County, is a strict state.
In the seventh year of Wude (624), Yanzhou was abolished and Jiande was merged into Tonglu County and Zhishan county.
In 683, Jiande county was restored, belonging to muzhou.
In the first year of Shengong of Tang Dynasty (697), muzhou government moved from Chishan to Jiande, and Jiande was the beginning of the state government.
Shouchang county was restored in 689, the first year of Yongchang in Tang Dynasty. It belonged to muzhou and was abandoned.
Tang Shenlong the first year (705) to set up, is a muzhou. In the Five Dynasties, Jiande and shouchang belonged to the state of Wu and Yue. Jiande is still the seat of muzhou.
In 1121, muzhou was changed into Yanzhou, and Jiande and shouchang were not changed.
In the first year of Xianchun (1265) of the Southern Song Dynasty, Yanzhou was promoted to Jiande Prefecture, which belonged to Jiande and shouchang.
In 1277, Defu was rebuilt as Jiande road. The road ruled Jiande, and shouchang still belonged to it. In the early Ming Dynasty, Jiande road was changed into Jian'an Prefecture.
In 1375, it was changed into Yanzhou Prefecture, which governed Jiande and led Jiande, shouchang, Tonglu, Fenshui, sui'an and Chun'an counties.
In October of the third year of Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty (1911), the government system was abandoned, and Yanzhou military and political sub government was established. Jiande and shouchang belonged to them, and Jiande was the government.
In October of the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Yanzhou was abolished.
In 1914, Jinhua Road was set up in Quxian County, where Jiande and shouchang belonged.
In 1927, the system of Taoism was abolished, and Jiande and shouchang were directly under Zhejiang Province.
In 1931, Jiande and shouchang established the sixth administrative supervision district.
On October 6, 1933, the office of the Commissioner established Jiande.
In September 1935, the fourth administrative supervision district was set up in Lanxi, which belonged to Jiande; the fifth administrative supervision district was set up in Quxian, which belonged to shouchang.
On September 1, 1943, Jiande and shouchang were added as the 11th administrative supervision district. The office of the commissioner was established in Chun'an and later in Jiande. In May 1936 (1947), the 11th administrative supervision district was abolished, and Jiande and shouchang were directly under Zhejiang Province.
In April 1948, the two counties belonged to the fourth administrative supervision district in Chun'an.
On May 5, 1949, Jiande and shouchang were liberated one after another. In the same month, the fourth special office was set up, and then the Jiande special area was changed to Jiande and shouchang.
On March 22, 1950, Jiande special office was abolished, and Jiande and shouchang were transferred to Jinhua special office.
On March 31, 1955, Jiande special office was re established, and Jiande and shouchang returned to their families.
In January 1957, in order to meet the needs of the construction of Xin'anjiang hydropower station, Jiande county was divided into Xin'anjiang District, which is equivalent to the county level.
On March 31, 1958, Xin'anjiang district was changed into Xin'anjiang Town, subordinate to Jiande county. On November 21, shouchang county was abolished and merged into Jiande county.
In April 1959, Jiande special office was abolished and Jiande county was assigned to Jinhua special office.
In August 1960, the county moved from Meicheng town to Baisha Town (now Xin'anjiang Street).
On May 16, 1963, Jiande county was designated as Hangzhou city.
In December 1985, Jiande county had jurisdiction over Baisha Town, Xin'anjiang District, Meicheng District, Qiantan District, Sandu District, shouchang district and Datong District.
On April 1, 1992, Jiande removed the county and set up the city, which governed Xin'anjiang town (now Xin'anjiang Street).
In 2000, Jiande city governed 15 towns and 12 townships.
In the first half of 2002, Jiande City had jurisdiction over 3 streets, 12 towns, 11 townships, 62 residential areas and 518 administrative villages.
By the end of 2003, Jiande City had jurisdiction over 3 streets, 12 towns, 11 townships, 25 communities, 30 residential areas and 514 administrative villages.
On March 28, 2005, Zhejiang provincial government (zhezhengfa letter No.18) approved the adjustment of some administrative divisions in Jiande City: < ol > < li > cancel the establishment of Shangma Township and merge with Datong town. After the adjustment, Datong town has jurisdiction over 58 administrative villages and 3 residential areas, and the residence of the town government remains unchanged (No. 52, guchengshan Road). < li > < li > the system of Shiping township was abolished and merged with hangtou town. After the adjustment, hangtou town has 42 administrative villages and 2 residential areas under its jurisdiction, and the town government remains unchanged (Xiyan Village). < / Li > < li > abolish the system of Tong's hometown and merge with shouchang town (excluding guoyushan village of Tong's hometown). By the end of 2005, Jiande City had a total area of 2321 square kilometers and a population of 508000. It has jurisdiction over 3 streets, 12 towns and 1 township: Yangxi street, genglou street and Xin'anjiang street; Meicheng Town, xiaya Town, yangcunqiao Town, Qiantan Town, Sandu Town, shouchang Town, Datong Town, hangtou Town, Lijia Town, Dayang Town, Lianhua town and daciyan town; qintang town. There are 30 communities, 27 residential areas and 513 administrative villages. The municipal government is located at No.1 Xin'an Road, Xin'anjiang street.
On August 20, 2007, zhezhenghan No. 119 approved the adjustment of some administrative divisions in Jiande City: maomaowu village in Qiantan town was put under the jurisdiction of qintang township. Shilibu village of Meicheng town was put under the jurisdiction of yangcunqiao town. Sangyuan village of Lianhua town was put under the jurisdiction of Yangxi street. Wushi village and wushiyuan village in daciyan town were put under the jurisdiction of shouchang town. Lijia town was put under the jurisdiction of Datong town. After the adjustment, Qiantan town governs 6 residential areas and 70 administrative villages; qintang Township governs 1 residential area and 13 administrative villages; Meicheng town governs 5 communities, 1 residential area and 25 administrative villages; yangcunqiao town governs 1 residential area and 23 administrative villages; Lianhua town governs 1 residential area and 12 administrative villages; Yangxi Street governs 1 community, 1 residential area and 13 administrative villages; daciyan town governs 1 residential area and 31 administrative villages Shouchang town governs 4 communities, 51 administrative villages and Lijia town governs 1 residential area
