History of construction
Gaoxian has a long history. According to the unearthed stone tools, human beings have been living here since the late Neolithic age four or five thousand years ago.
During the Warring States period, the county was located in the southwest of China, belonging to Yelang state.
After Qin Shihuang unified the six states, he sent Changhe to open Wuchi Road, and the county was a unified feudal central dynasty.
In the fifth year of Yuanguang (130 B.C.) of the Western Han Dynasty, Nanguang county was set up, from Nanguang county to Nanqi.

In the 17th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1280), Gaozhou was set up here and attached to Mahu road. The state government was located in Chencun village and later moved to huaiyuanzhai (at the foot of Fenghuangshan in jinwenjiang town). After the 7th year of Dade (1303), Gaozhou was attached to Xuzhou road.
In the fifth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1372), Gaozhou was reduced to Gaoxian, which was the beginning of Gaoxian. In the sixth year of Hongwu (1373), it was under the jurisdiction of Xuzhou Prefecture. In April 1518, Gaoxian was restored to Gaozhou. At the beginning of Shunzhi period in Qing Dynasty, Gaozhou was demoted to Gaoxian.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the government was changed to Dao, and Gaoxian county was subordinate to xiachuannan Dao. In 1914, xiachuannan road was changed to Yongning road. In 1929, Gaoxian county was established in Sichuan Province. In 1935, it was the sixth administrative supervision district of Sichuan Province.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Gaoxian county was peacefully liberated on December 11, 1949.
