Zhaohua District Zhaohua District, subordinate to Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, is located in the north of Sichuan Basin and the middle of Guangyuan City, with a total area of 1434.71 square kilometers. It governs 12 towns and the district government is located in Yuanba town.
In the Warring States period, it was the territory of Shu state, and Jiameng county was set up after Qin exterminated the state of Ju. In 972, it was changed to Zhaohua county with the meaning of "show the emperor's favor, so as to transform the people". The name of Zhaohua is derived from this. Yuanba district was set up in 1989, and it was renamed Zhaohua District in March 2013.
Zhaohua ancient city is one of the earliest and longest counties in Sichuan Province. It is an important birthplace of the Three Kingdoms culture. It is known as the "important town of the Three Kingdoms" and has been built into a national AAAA tourist attraction. Zhaohua town is a famous historical and cultural town in China. In March 2019, it will be listed in the first batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. On April 28, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to withdraw Zhaohua district from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties. On December 31, 2019, it will be selected as a typical county of rural innovation and entrepreneurship in China.
Historical evolution
Ancient times
During the Warring States period, Zhaohua District of Guangyuan City was the territory of the king of Shu. Kaiming, the king of Shu, appointed his younger brother as Marquis Ju, and took Jiameng (now Zhaohua Tuji dam, then known as tufei) as the capital.
In the ninth year of gengyuan (316 BC), King Huiwen of Qin Dynasty attacked Shu and destroyed Shu and Ju. After that, Jiameng county was established.
In the 22nd year of Jian'an (217 AD), Emperor Xian of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Bei changed Jiameng county to Hanshou County.
In the first year of Taikang (AD 280), Emperor Wu of the Western Jin Dynasty changed Hanshou County to Jinshou county.
In the 15th year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (390 AD), Jinshou county was changed to Yichang County, and Xingan County was located in the north of Jinshou county.
In 544 ad, Yichang county was changed into Jingzhao county.
In the first year of emperor Xiaomin of the Northern Zhou Dynasty (557 AD), Jingzhao county was restored to Yichang county.
In the early Sui Dynasty, miangu town was built in the southeast of Xing'an County (now Jialing Town, Lizhou District, Guangyuan City). In the 18th year of kaihuang (598 AD) of Sui Dynasty, miangu town was the main traffic road and the administrative office of Xing'an County, so Xing'an County was changed into miangu county.
In 925 ad, Yichang county was changed into Yiguang county.
At the beginning of the Northern Song Dynasty, Taizu changed Yiguang County into Yichang county; in the fifth year of Kaibao (972 AD), Yichang county was changed into Zhaohua county.
In 1277 A.D., the emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty set up Guangyuan Fu Road with the meaning of "Dazai Qianyuan" in the book of changes and "Dewei broadcast, vast territory" in the Yuan Dynasty.
In the fourth year of Hongwu (1371 A.D.), Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty still set up Guangyuan mansion. In the ninth year of Hongwu (1376 AD), Guangyuan Prefecture was demoted to Guangyuan Prefecture, and miangu County of Sichuan Province was transferred to Guangyuan Prefecture. Hongwu ten years (AD 1377), and province Zhaohua County into Guangyuan Prefecture. In November of 1380, miangu county and Zhaohua county were restored. In the 22nd year of Hongwu, Guangyuan Prefecture was established as Guangyuan County (abandoned miangu county), and Zhaohua county was still established as Baoning Prefecture.
In the Qing Dynasty, Guangyuan County and Zhaohua county were still under the Ming system, belonging to Baoning Prefecture of North Sichuan.
the Republic of China era
During the period of the Republic of China, Guangyuan and Zhaohua counties were still established. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), North Sichuan Road was cut off, and the two counties belonged to Baoning Prefecture. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Fudao was abolished, and the two counties belonged to Chuanbei road. In the third year of the Republic of China, gengchuanbei road was Jialing Road, and Guangyuan and Zhaohua counties belonged to Jialing Road. In October 1918, Xiong Kewu, commander-in-chief of Sichuan Yasukuni army and governor of Sichuan Province, served as the commander of the seventh division of the Yasukuni army, stationed in Daxian (Dazhou). At that time, it had jurisdiction over Daxian, Xuanhan, Kaijiang, Wanyuan, Chengkou, Kaixian, Yunyang, Fengjie, Wuxi, Quxian, Yingshan, Yilong, Peng'an, Tongjiang, Nanjiang, Bazhong, Langzhong, Cangxi, Nanbu, Yanting, Zhaohua, Guangyuan, Jiange and Zitong counties. On July 23, 1933, the Fourth Front Army of the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army established the Jialing County Soviet in Yuanba town.
New China period
On December 14 and 15, 1949, the PLA successively occupied Guangyuan and Zhaohua; on December 15, 1949, the people's governments of Guangyuan and Zhaohua were established.
On March 19, 1950, the office of the Commissioner of the Jiange special district was established under the jurisdiction of Guangyuan County and Zhaohua county.
In December 1952, Jiange special office was renamed Guangyuan special office.
In March 1953, Guangyuan special office was withdrawn, and the two counties were subordinate to Mianyang special office.
On March 22, 1959, the State Council officially approved the incorporation of Zhaohua County into Guangyuan County.
In February 1985, the State Council approved the establishment of Guangyuan City, the withdrawal of Guangyuan County and the establishment of Shizhong District of Guangyuan City, and put Wangcang, Qingchuan and Jiange counties in Mianyang area under the jurisdiction of Guangyuan City;
In September 1985, the State Council approved to put Cangxi County in Nanchong under the jurisdiction of Guangyuan City.
In November 1986, Zhaohua, Hutiao and Wangjia district offices were removed from Shizhong District of Guangyuan City, and the towns under their jurisdiction were assigned to Weizi District Office of Shizhong District of Guangyuan City (then called "Weizi district"). At that time, Weizi District governed 24 townships and 2 towns (Hutiao town and Zhaohua town);
On May 19, 1987, with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's government, Weizi township was removed and Weizi town was built;
On February 18, 1989, Yuanba town and Liuqiao township of Shizhong District Office of Guangyuan City were under the jurisdiction of Weizi district office. At that time, Weizi district had jurisdiction over 24 townships and 4 towns (Hutiao Town, Zhaohua Town, Weizi town and Yuanba town).
With the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of civil affairs of the people's Republic of China gave an official reply on August 15, 1989, revoking the office of Weizi District, Shizhong District, Guangyuan City and jianyuanba District, belonging to Guangyuan City. The district government moved from Weizi town to Yuanba town.
On March 12, 2013, with the approval of the State Council, Yuanba district was renamed Zhaohua district. The District People's government is located in Yuanba town.

Evolution and change
After the establishment of Yuanba District in August 1989, Xiaoxin township of Cangxi County was incorporated into Yuanba District in April 1993. Meanwhile, Motan township (renamed from Guanyin Township) and Xiaoxin Township were abolished and Motan town was built. After the township merger from 1992 to 1995, Wang's hometown, bolingou's Township, Taigong's township and Hongyan's township were abolished, and Wangjia's Township, bolingou's Township, Taigong's township and Hongyan's township were built.
In September 2002, the two neighborhood committees of No. 640 mine area and light management office of caiyinyan coal mine of the former Guangwang Mining Bureau were transferred to Yuanba district for management, and the sub district office of caiyinyan community was set up together with caiyinyan village of Liuqiao township. On December 2 of the same year, the sub district office of caiyinyan was set up and the sub district office of caiyinyan community was cancelled.
On January 7, 2009, communities 7, 8 and 9 of quanba village, Rongshan Town, Lizhou district (formerly Shizhong District) were under the jurisdiction of Yuanba Town, Yuanba district.
By the end of 2011, Yuanba district had jurisdiction over 9 towns (Yuanba, Zhaohua, Weizi, Hutiao, Motan, Wangjia, Taigong, Hongyan, bolingou), 19 townships (Liuqiao, Ziyun, Meishu, Jinxian, Wencun, shijingpu, Qingshui, Zhangjia, Xiangxi, Chenjiang, qingniu, Dingjia, Huanglong, Baiguo, mingjue, archery, Dachao, Shaba, Chaoyang), and 1 sub District Office (caiyinyan sub district office) There are 212 villages, 19 neighborhood committees, 1413 villager groups and 47 resident groups. Yuanba district Party committee and people's Government of Guangyuan City of CPC are stationed in Yuanba town.
On September 14, 2015, the people's Government of Zhaohua District issued a notice to adjust the administrative divisions of mingjue Township and shijingpu township. On October 16 of the same year, shijingpu Township and mingjue Township were officially withdrawn to build towns.
As of 2015, Zhaohua district has jurisdiction over 11 towns, 17 townships and 1 Street, 212 administrative villages, 19 communities, 1413 villager groups and 47 resident groups. The people's Government of Zhaohua District of Guangyuan City is located in Yuanba town.

In December 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Guangyuan City to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns in four counties (districts), including Qingchuan county
(1) Liuqiao Township, Ziyun Township and caiyinyan Street will be abolished, and the administrative areas of the former Liuqiao Township, Ziyun Township and caiyinyan Street will be put under the jurisdiction of Yuanba Town, and the people's Government of Yuanba town will be stationed at 135 Jinshou road.
(2) Qingniu township was abolished and qingniu town was established. The administrative area of qingniu town was the original administrative area of Wenshu village, Sushan village, Lianchi village, Tuanjie village and Bainiu village. The people's Government of qingniu town was stationed at No. 5, Fengqiao road.
(3) The administrative areas of Chenjiang Township, Dingjia community, yuluo village, Qinglong village, Huxi village, Duanqiao village, Dawu village, Shuangbai village and Nanliu village of qingniu township are under the jurisdiction of Hutiao town. The people's Government of Hutiao town is located at 28 Xingfu road.
(4) Huanglong township was abolished, and the administrative areas of the former Huanglong Township, Dongping village, Leiyin village, Huilong village, Liuzhuang village and Shuanglong Village of the former Ding Township were put under the jurisdiction of Taigong town. The people's Government of Taigong town was stationed at No. 200 government street.
(5) Qingshui Township and Xiangxi Township were abolished and Qingshui town was established. The administrative area of Qingshui town was the former Qingshui Township and Xiangxi Township, and the administrative area of Shimiao village, Jianshan village, JINZI village, Songliang village and Fuling village of Zhangjia township. The people's Government of Qingshui town was located at No. 5 Qingshui South Road.
(6) Jinxian Township, Meishu Township, Baiguo Township and shijingpu town will be abolished, and Zhongshan village, Qianqiu village and Baomin village will be replaced by potential village, Chunhua village, Chuanxin village, Meiling village, Meishu village and Xinli village
