Historical evolution
Lijin County has a long history. As early as the Zhou and Qin Dynasties, the southwest of the county is an ancient land, belonging to the state of Qi.
Han Dynasty belongs to luowo county and Liaocheng County of Qiancheng county.
After the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Yellow River entered the sea in this region. With the formation and development of the Yellow River Delta, the region continued to extend to the Bohai Bay.
Yongli town was built in Sui Dynasty, belonging to Putai county.
The Tang and Song dynasties belong to Yongli Town, Bohai county.
In December of the third year of Mingchang in the Jin Dynasty (January 1193), the town was upgraded to a county. Because the town had Dongjin wharf, it was called "Lijin" and belonged to Binzhou Cishi County, east Shandong road.
Yuan and Ming dynasties belong to Binzhou, Jinan, Shandong Province.
During the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, it belonged to Wuding Prefecture of Shandong Province (now Huimin County). Lijin prospered because of its rivers and seas. "Lijin controls the Yellow River internally and locks up the important shipping port externally", gradually forming a land and water wharf and an important commercial and trade town, known as "little Tianjin" in history. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the boxers were organized to carry out the anti imperialist patriotic movement, which was later bloody suppressed by Yuan Shikai, governor of Shandong Province.
