Jianggan District Jianggan District belongs to Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the oldest urban areas in Hangzhou. It is located in the east of Hangzhou metropolis, covering an area of 200.00 square kilometers.
Jianggan District is the bridgehead of Hangzhou's eastward expansion, the axis of Hangzhou's urban development strategy, and the transportation hub of Hangzhou. It is the new political, economic and cultural center of Hangzhou and the location of CBD (Qianjiang new town). It also has Xiasha Higher Education Park, the largest higher education park in Zhejiang Province.
Jianggan District has jurisdiction over 10 streets, and the district government is located at No. 1 Qingchun East Road. It has been rated as the national science and technology work advanced zone, the national health advanced city zone, the National Community Construction Demonstration Zone, Zhejiang science and technology progress advanced zone, Zhejiang Education strong zone, and Zhejiang Ping'an city zone.

In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Yue.

In the 35th year of King Xian of Zhou Dynasty (334 BC), it belonged to Chu.
In the 25th year of the reign of the king of Qin (222 BC), Hangzhou was located in Qiantang County, and Jianggan was located in Qiantang county.
In the third year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (328), Qiantang county was located at the eastern foot of Fenghuang. Since then, it has been the seat of Hangzhou in Sui and Tang Dynasties, the kingdom of Wu and Yue in Five Dynasties and the imperial city of Southern Song Dynasty.
From the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, Qiantang county and Renhe county were in the same territory.
In the Southern Song Dynasty, Xiangfang was set up in the city and Xiangli was set up outside Guo.
In 1910, there were Jianggan Township in Qiantang County, Jianggan Township and Huibao Township in Renhe county.

In December 2014, Hangzhou Municipal People's government issued a document "reply on the adjustment of some administrative divisions in Jianggan District", which agreed to remove Jianqiao Town, Pengbu Town, Jiubao town and Dingqiao town and set up streets, and Dingqiao street was renamed dinglan street.
