Yizheng, Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty once ordered to cast the gold statues of four distant ancestors here. Because of the vivid appearance of the statues, they were named "Zhenzhou" and "Yizhen (Zheng)". In the fifth year of Yuanfeng (106 BC), Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty set up the county as Yu County. In July 1986, with the approval of the State Council, Yizheng county was abolished and Yizheng City was established. The coastline of the Yangtze River in Yizheng is 27 kilometers, which is an ideal coastline for port construction. Historical evolution
In the Western Zhou Dynasty, a prince's fiefdom named "Yikan" was here, which was the earliest place name of Yizheng.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to Wu, Yue, Chu and Qin states successively. Qin belongs to Donghai County.
In the early Han Dynasty, it was Guangling and Jiangdu. In the fifth year of Yuanfeng (106 BC), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty established the county as Yu County.
In 436, Yuxian County was abolished and entered Jiangdu county.
In the first year of Yongchun of Tang Dynasty (682), Yangzi county was established.
In 924, Baisha Town (now Yizheng City) in Yangzi county was renamed yingluan town.
In the second year of Qiande (964) of Song Dynasty, yingluan town was promoted to Jian'an army. In 1013, Emperor Zhenzong of the Northern Song Dynasty heard that Wang Qi appeared in the Erting mountain of the Jian'an army. He ordered the Jian'an army to cast a gold statue of its ancestors and transport it back to Kyoto. Xiangcheng, with his vivid appearance and great joy, bestowed the Jian'an army as Yizhen, and promoted the Jian'an army to Zhenzhou, which governed Yangzi county and Liuhe County. It was the trade center of North-South waterway in Song Dynasty and the economic center of Huainan East Road. The name of Yizhen begins here. Junzhou government was established in Yizheng City. Since then, Zhenzhou has been changed into a county, a road, and then a state.
In 1396, Zhenzhou was abolished and Yizhen county was established.
In the first year of Yongzheng (1723) of the Qing Dynasty, Yizheng county was changed from the name of emperor to the name of Yizheng county.
At the beginning of the Republic of China, Yizheng County successively belonged to Huaiyang Road, the ninth administrative region and the fifth administrative region of Jiangsu Province.
In December of 1937, the Japanese army invaded Yiwu, and after the disintegration of the county government, it was rebuilt in Yuetang.
In April 1940, the Yizheng Anti Japanese democratic government led by the Communist Party of China was established in Yuetang.

The known mineral resources in Yizheng are mainly as follows: Huangsha is mainly distributed in Yuetang, Maji, Liuji, Qingshan, Zhenzhou, etc. The reserves are about 600 million tons. Gravel (Pebble) is associated with yellow sand and its distribution is the same as that of yellow sand. The reserves are about 60.65 million tons. Associated with the pebbles are a large number of Yuhua agate. Yizheng is the main deposit area. Animal resources
Mammals include hare, badger, weasel, wildcat, otter, weasel, finless porpoise (Yangtze River), etc. Finless porpoise (porpoise) is rarely seen in the Yangtze River, and sika deer and hybrid wild boar have been cultivated artificially.
