geographical environment
Location context
Jinzhai County is located in the west of Anhui Province, on the north slope of the main vein of Dabie Mountains, adjacent to Hubei and Henan provinces, with Yu'an district and Huoshan County of Lu'an City in the East, Yingshan County and Luotian County in the south, Macheng county and Shangcheng County in the west, Gushi County and Yeji District in the north. It is between 115 ° 22 ′ 19 ″ - 116 ° 11 ′ 52 ″ E and 31 ° 06 ′ 41 ″ - 31 ° 48 ′ 51 ″ n with a total area of 3814 square kilometers.
Geological Composition
The Geotectonics of Jinzhai County is a part of Huaiyang ancient land, which was formed earlier. In particular, the south of Jinzhai County was uplifted from the sea floor by Wutai Luliang movement one billion years ago, and the north of Jinzhai County was separated from the sea area by Caledonian Hercynian movement in the past 600 million years. The geological boundary between the north and south parts of Jinzhai County is the Tongbai Mozitan fault zone.
Jinzhai County has been affected by tectonic movement for many times. The folding movement was dominant in southern Anhui, Huoqiu and Haixi periods, and the faulting was dominant in Yanshanian period. The folding movement resulted in the compression and bending deformation of horizontal strata, forming various fold structures: Wutai Luliang fold belt, fangjiachong reversed anticline belt, yingshangou anticline belt and zhufoan syncline belt. The first two are NW-SE, and the last two are NE-SW. The distribution and strike of each fold belt have a great influence on the geomorphic structure and the strike of geomorphic units in Jinzhai County.
There are three fault zones in Jinzhai County: the Tongbai Mozitan deep fault formed by the tectonic movement in southern Anhui, which is nearly East-West strike. The county passes through the line of Yanzhi Qingshan, about 65 km long and 250-650 m wide. After the Yanshan tectonic movement, the faulting intensified, and two large fault zones were formed, namely Jinzhai xitangchi fault and Jingangtai fault. The former passes through Meishan reservoir Xianghongdian reservoir line in the county, with a length of about 57 km and a width of about 100-300 m; the latter passes through yinshanfan Jingangtai line in the county, with a length of about 40 km and a width of about 50-100 M.
In Jinzhai County, the time of land formation is different, and the new and old strata are also different. From south to North and from west to East, the strata gradually change from old to new. The oldest is the geological rock series, which is distributed in the south of the line between Yanzhi and Qingshan. The latest strata are Quaternary coarse sand and gravel, which are distributed in the valley plain of hilly area in Northeast China.
topographic features
The Geotectonics of Jinzhai County has formed the geomorphic structure of middle mountain, low mountain, hill, basin and valley plain. The trend of fold belt and fault belt makes the geomorphic unit of Jinzhai County generally in NW-SE or NE-SW trend, and the distribution of mountains, hills, strip basins and valleys alternate. The terrain inclines from southwest to northeast. The highest is Tiantangzhai on the southern border, with an altitude of 1729.13 meters. The lowest is Guanji village in baitafan Township, with an altitude of 60 meters and a relative elevation difference of 1669.13 meters. The average altitude of Jinzhai County is 500m and the average slope is 21
