Dong'an district is the lower District of Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province. It is located in the southeast of Mudanjiang city. It was built in January 1958. It is adjacent to Aimin district by binsui railway in the north, Xi'an district by Xitaiping Road, and Yangming District, Muling City and Ning'an city in the East and south respectively.
In 2006, the region's full caliber added value, sales revenue, total output, profits and taxes were 1.02 billion yuan, 3.49 billion yuan, 2.76 billion yuan, 270 million yuan and 160 million yuan, respectively, up 0.9%, 1.7%, 0.8%, 1.4% and 1.1% compared with 2005. The proportion of primary, secondary and tertiary production in the whole region was adjusted to 6:35:59.
As of 2013, the administrative area is 294.2 square kilometers, and the urban area is 5.2 square kilometers, with a total population of 200000 people, including 135700 urban people, living in 24 ethnic minorities including Korea, Manchu, Hui and Mongolia.
Historical evolution
Dong'an district is the earliest place in Mudanjiang city.
In 1901, the eastern section of the Middle East Railway was completed and opened to traffic, and Mudanjiang station was set up, gradually forming part of the streets. After the fall of Northeast China, it was called "old city street".
In 1937, after the establishment of Mudanjiang City, Central District, Southern District and workshop district were established.
Xin'an district was established after the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945. But the pronunciation of "Xin'an" and "Xi'an" is close, in order to avoid confusion.
In June 1947, Xin'an district was changed into Dong'an district.
In January 1952, the original workshop area and part of Dong'an district were changed into the second district.
In September 1956, the establishment of the district was abolished and the sub district office was set up.
In January 1958, the streets were abolished and Dongan district was restored.
In August 1960, it was renamed Dong'an people's commune, and the two rural communes of Xinglong and Dongcun were classified as "implementing the combination of urban and rural areas".
In January 1962, two more rural communes were set aside and the former administrative region of Dong'an district was restored,
In 1968, it was renamed Dongfeng district.
At the beginning of 1970, Qianjin people's commune was set up in Dongfeng district and Aimin District, and Dongfeng district was renamed Shengli people's commune. In October of the same year, Shengli commune was renamed Dongfeng district.
In June 1980, Dongfeng district was changed into Dong'an district.
In 1992, it was under the jurisdiction of Mudanjiang City, Dong'an district.
At the end of 1992, Dong'an district government was located in the north of the middle section of East Chang'an Street.
