Historical evolution
Taoshan district is named after Taoshan.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Boli County. At the beginning, it was under the jurisdiction of Nanxiang Township, and later it was under the jurisdiction of xiaowuzhan town.
After the fall of Northeast China in 1931, it belonged to the 11th class.
In 1938, the Japanese invaders occupied civilian land and set up Taoshan development site.

In 1948, Taoshan district was assigned to the new Qitaihe district.

On February 10, 1984, Taoshan people's government was established with the approval of Heilongjiang provincial Party committee. Taonan, Taoshan, Taoxi, Xinggang four streets and Taoxi township are under the jurisdiction of the district. In December 1996, the Department of civil affairs of Heilongjiang Province approved the establishment of Taobei and Taodong streets in Taoshan District of Qitaihe City, which was the result of the cancellation of the construction of wanbaohe town in Taoxi Township in yuetaoshan district.
