Meixi District old city district name. See Yimei district for details. The former Meixi district is under the jurisdiction of Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. It is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province, the south foot of Xiaoxing'an Mountains, the middle and upper reaches of Tangwang River, and 20.5km southeast of Yichun city. It borders on Wuying, Hongxing and Xinqing forestry bureaus in the north, Nancha and Xilin in the south, Jinshantun and Hegang in the East and Wuma River in the West. The administrative division of the region is 94 kilometers long from north to South and 29 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 2258 square kilometers. The population of the whole region was 41028 (in 2010).

Evolution of organizational system
Meixi forest area, which can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty, belongs to Heishui Dudu Fu of Haibei Road, and is the activity area of Heishui part.
In the Liao and Northern Song Dynasties, it belonged to the palace of King Tieli in Tokyo, and was the activity area of Wuwei in Jue.
In the Jin and Southern Song Dynasties, it belonged to meng'an, Puhe and Lutun River in Tokyo.
Yuan Dynasty belongs to Taowen wanhu house in shuidada road of Liaoyang province.
In the Ming Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of nuergan dusitun Hewei.
In Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Xingdong road.
In 1928, the national government abandoned the road. At that time, Yichun hall was planned to be set up in Yichun river area. Meixi forest area was under the jurisdiction of Yichun hall. It belonged to Tangyuan County of Sanjiang Province during the puppet Manchukuo period, and it belonged to Tangyuan County of Hejiang province after the victory of the Anti Japanese war.
In 1947, Nancha branch of Hejiang Forestry Bureau set up an 82 km operation station in Meixi.
In 1949, it was designated as Meixi Forestry Bureau. In August 1950, it was expanded to Meixi Forestry Bureau. In July 1951, Meixi Forestry Bureau was relocated to wudaoku. In 1953, wudaoku Forestry Bureau was expanded to Forest Industry Bureau. In March of the same year, after Yichun county was established, Meixi Village Office was transformed into Yichun county and village level town.
In October 1955, Meixi District Office was established under the leadership of Yichun County, and a town government was set up in Meixi. In November 1957, wudaoku Forest Industry Bureau moved to Meixi and established wudaoku forest management area in Meixi. Yichun county was expanded into Yichun City, and Meixi was changed into a municipal district.
In January 1958, wudaoku Forest Industry Bureau and wudaoku management area merged. In April of the same year, wudaoku Forest Industry Bureau was renamed Meixi Forestry Bureau of Heilongjiang Province. In October of that year, the people's Government of Meixi district changed its name to Meixi people's commune.
In March 1960, Meixi people's Commune and Meixi Forestry Bureau implemented the first integration of government and enterprise. In January 1962, government and enterprise were separated. In September 1964, the second integration of government and enterprise was implemented. They are collectively referred to as Meixi District People's government and Meixi Forestry Bureau, or Meixi District (bureau).
On June 7, 1967, the Revolutionary Committee of Meixi district was established. In September 1971, the Party committee of Meixi Forestry Bureau was restored.
On September 22, 1980, the Revolutionary Committee of Meixi district was abolished and the organizational system of Meixi District People's government and Meixi Forestry Bureau was restored.
It will be withdrawn in 2019. With Yichun District, Meixi district and a small part of Wumahe District, Yimei district was established.

The average altitude of the territory is 500 meters, the highest is Xiaobai mountain, with an altitude of 1022.1 meters, and the lowest is Meixi Town, where Meixi district (bureau) is located, with an altitude of 210 meters. The general landform is high in the northeast and low in the southwest. The sunny slope is steep and short, the shady slope is gentle and long, and the ridge is wide and flat.
