Saga County saga county is subordinate to Xigaze city of Tibet Autonomous Region. It is located in the southwest of Xigaze city and the northwest of Xigaze city. Before the peaceful liberation of Tibet, Saga county was known as saga sect, which was under the jurisdiction of gaxia (local) government of Tibet. There were two sects, namely, Eastern and Western Buddhist and secular sects, which were directly appointed by gaxia government from Drepung temple, sera temple and Jokhang Temple. The form of political power system is the feudal serf system of "the unity of politics and religion". On September 20, 1959, the provisional Committee of Saga county was established. In April 1960, the people's Government of Saga county was established. In May 1960, the Tibet Working Committee of the CPC decided to formally establish the saga County Committee of the CPC.
On June 8, 1972, with the approval of the Revolutionary Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the county was moved to Jiajia Town, which was officially relocated on October 14, 1974.
