geographical environment
Location context
Yi'an district is located in the south central part of Anhui Province, on the South Bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, between 117 ° 42 ′ 00 ″ - 118 ° 10 ′ 6 ″ E and 30 ° 45 ′ 12 ″ - 31 ° 07 ′ 56 ″ n. It is adjacent to Fanchang and Nanling in the East, Qingyang and Guichi in the south, and Zongyang and Wuwei across the river in the northwest. It is 41.1 km wide from east to west and 43.3 km long from north to south. The total area is 845 square kilometers. It is the north gate of Huangshan, Jiuhua Mountain and Taiping Lake.
topographic features
Yi'an district is located in the junction zone between the plain of the lower Yangtze River and the mountainous area of Southern Anhui. Frequent fold and fault movements lead to strong differentiation of fault blocks, forming low mountains, hills, mountain valleys, undulating hills and alluvial plains along the river. The total terrain is high in the South and low in the north, and the central part is the transition zone between the north and the south. According to the formation characteristics, morphological characteristics and composition of geomorphology, it can be divided into three types. The terrain is distributed from south to north by low mountain area, hilly area and polder area.
The southern low mountain area covers the south of xipaifeng, huangmuling and Shizishan, accounting for about 40% of the total area. The altitude is higher, generally between 200 and 500 meters. Zhongming, jinlang, Xinqiao, Dongdian, Zhucun and other places developed some fault block low mountains due to the influence of many tectonic movements. The low mountains are distributed in the northeast direction, most of them are folded, and a few of them are fault mountains. Generally, the slope is about 25 ° to 30 ° and the mountains are relatively complete. The mountains gradually decrease from southwest to northeast. The main rock formations of the low mountains are Yanshanian granite and diorite, Triassic and Permian limestone and siliceous rocks, and quartz sandstone, sandy shale and siltstone of upper and middle Zhimao system and Upper Devonian system.
The central hilly area includes Xingou, huayuanwang, yuloushan, south of Cuijia line, Chengguan, liutan, Zhongcang, Xihu, Zhongming, Xinqiao, etc., accounting for about 30% of the total area. The altitude is less than 200 meters, mostly 50-150 meters. The central hilly area is the transition zone between North and south, and the hills are distributed in the northeast and zonal distribution. The average slope of the ground is smaller than that in the south, generally between 15 ° and 20 ° and only the hills formed by faulting are steep. The ground is broken and has a series of scours and valleys. The terrain fluctuates slightly, and tends to the north to the plain polder area, and the terrain gradually decreases, with the relative elevation ranging from 20m to 30m. The main components are Quaternary upper and Middle Pleistocene red clay, Xiashu loess, Triassic and Permian limestone, tertiary purple red gravel and so on. Cretaceous glutenite is distributed in frog shaped hills in Shun'an, silver carp mountain in Zhongming, hills beside Chengguan River and Guangrong village in Xinjian. The narrow valley plain (Fantian) formed along Shun'an River and Xinqiao river is composed of modern river alluvium with a thickness of about 5 meters.
Tongling County, the lowest lying area in the north, is formed by the alluvial action of the Yangtze River and its tributaries. It covers Datong, Laozhou, Anping, xuba, Taiping, Yongfeng and Heping, as well as parts of Zhongming, Shun'an, Chengguan, liutan and Xihu, accounting for about 30% of the total area. Since the Quaternary, the area has been in a declining period
