Shaowu Shaowu (ancient Shaowu County of Shaowu prefecture) is known as "iron city". It is located at the southern foot of Wuyi Mountain and the Bank of futun river. It is historically known as South Wuyi. In October 1983, the county was removed to build a city. Now it has jurisdiction over 12 towns, 3 townships and 4 streets. The total population of the city is 3089100 people (in 2016). The land area of the city is 2852 square kilometers, and the built-up area is 25.12 square kilometers.
Shaowu has a long history. It has been built for more than 1700 years. It was once one of the eight prefectures in Fujian Province. In history, there were two prime ministers, seven ministers of the Ministry of war and 271 Jinshi. Heping ancient town in Shaowu City is also the place where Huang's family members seek their roots and pay homage to their ancestors. The descendants of Huang Qiao, the Minister of the Ministry of industry in the later Tang Dynasty, are all over the coastal provinces, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asian countries. Li Gang, a famous prime minister in Song Dynasty, and Yan Yu, a literary critic, were all born in Shaowu. During the revolutionary war, the leading organs of the party such as the Fujian Jiangxi Provincial Committee, the special committee of central Fujian, and the Fujian Provincial Committee were successively established.
Shaowu is the "forest sea granary" in Northern Fujian. It is one of the commodity grain base counties (cities) in China and Fujian Province. Shaowu City has a forest coverage rate of 70%, a forest area of 3.19 million mu and a forest stock of 14.02 million cubic meters. It is one of the key forest regions and four major forest products processing centers in Fujian Province. At the same time, the total theoretical reserves of water resources in Fujian Province are 304000 kilowatts, and there are more than 20 kinds of underground mineral resources. The reserves of fluorite rank first in Fujian Province. In 2015, it was listed as the second batch of national new urbanization comprehensive pilot areas.
In 2019, Shaowu's GDP will reach 24.425 billion yuan.
In March 2020, it won the title of national advanced county of village cleaning action, and was praised by the central agricultural office and the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas. On October 9, 2020, it was awarded the title of the fourth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration cities and counties by the Ministry of ecological environment.
Historical evolution
In the third year of Wu Yong'an (260) of the Three Kingdoms, the Wu Lord Sun Xiu dismissed his Duwei, established Jian'an County, established Zhaowu Town, and later promoted to Zhaowu county.
In the first year of Yuankang in the Western Jin Dynasty (291), Sima Zhong, Emperor Hui, changed his name to Shaowu county to avoid his ancestor Sima Zhao. At that time, Jian'an county was under the jurisdiction of Jiangzhou.
In the first year of Taining in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (323), Shaowu county was changed to Zhaoyang county.
In the first year of Yongchu (420), Shaowu county was changed to Jianan county.
In the ninth year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (589), all counties and counties were abolished, and Shaowu was changed to Quanzhou (now Fuzhou). In 592, Shaowu county was restored and Suicheng county (now Taining County) was incorporated into Shaowu county. At that time, Shaowu County belonged to Fuzhou. Daye first year (605), Fuzhou changed to Linchuan County, Shaowu Linchuan county.
In the fourth year of Wude of Tang Dynasty (621), Suicheng was separated from Shaowu and established as a county. Shaowu belonged to Jianzhou. The first year of Zhenguan (627). Jianzhou is under the jurisdiction of Jiangnan Road. The first year of Tianfu in the later Jin Dynasty (936). Shaowu county was changed to Zhaowu county. In the first year of Qianyou (948), Zhaowu county was changed to Shaowu county.
In 979, the fourth year of Taiping's rejuvenation of the state in Song Dynasty, Shaowu set up the army, the county was under the military administration, and the army was under the jurisdiction of Fujian road. In the same year, Caiyan town of Shaowu was designated as Guangze county.
In 1276, Shao Wujun was changed to Shaowu Road, county to road administration, and road was under the jurisdiction of Fujian road.
In the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1368), Shaowu road was changed into Shaowu Prefecture, and the county was governed by the prefecture, which was under the jurisdiction of the Fujian provincial minister. The subordination of Qing Dynasty remained unchanged.
In 1913, the government was abolished and put into County, belonging to Jian'an Road in Fujian Province. In the 16th year of the Republic of China, it was directly under Fujian Province. In the 23 years of the Republic of China, Shaowu belonged to the ninth administrative supervision district. In September of the 24th year of the Republic of China, it was the third administrative supervision district.
In May 1949, Shaowu County belonged to Jianyang District of Fujian Province. In 1956, Jianyang district was changed into Nanping district. It was renamed Jianyang area in 1970. In October 1983, the county was changed into a city. In 1988, Jianyang district was changed into Nanping district.
In September 1994, the State Council approved the abolition of Nanping district administrative office and the establishment of prefecture level cities.
In 1990, Shaowu City governed 4 sub district offices, 2 towns and 13 townships, with a total of 19 townships (towns) and streets, namely: Zhaoyang, Tongtai, Shuibei and shaikou sub district offices, nakou and Heping towns, suburban, Shuibei, tunshang, Yanshan, Dazhu, Wujiatang, Weimin, Hongdun, zhangcuo, DABUGANG, xiaojiafang, Guilin and Jinkeng townships.
In July 1992, the system of Shuibei and DABUGANG townships was abolished, and Shuibei town and DABUGANG town were established respectively, with their jurisdiction and government station unchanged. In November of the same year, the organizational systems of Hongdun and Yanshan townships were abolished, and Hongdun town and Yanshan town were established respectively, with their jurisdiction and government residence unchanged.
In November 1994, the system of suburban township was abolished and suburban town was established, with its jurisdiction and government station unchanged. Tunshang township was abolished and Xiasha town was established. The former administrative region of tunshang township was taken as the administrative region of Xiasha Town, and the town government was stationed in Xiasha.
In March 1996, the township system of Weimin and xiaojiafang was abolished, and Weimin town and xiaojiafang town were established respectively, with their jurisdiction and government residence unchanged.
In June 2000, Dazhu township was abolished and Dazhu town was established, with its jurisdiction and government station unchanged. In July of the same year, Wujiatang farm was restructured and Wujiatang town was established. Wujiatang Township and Wujiatang farm area were the administrative areas of Wujiatang Town, and the town government was stationed in Wujiatang.

Shaowu City is located in the northwest of Fujian Province, the southern foot of Wuyi Mountain, and the middle and upper reaches of futun River, a tributary of Minjiang River. It straddles 26 ° 55 chul-27 ° 35 Chul N and 117 ° 2 chul-117 ° 52 Chul E. It is adjacent to Jianyang District of Nanping City in the northeast, Shunchang County in the southeast, Jiangle, Taining and Jianning counties of Sanming City in the south, Lichuan County of Jiangxi Province in the west, and Guangze County in the northwest.
Shaowu is 78 kilometers wide from east to west and 71 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 2836.73 square kilometers. The northernmost end is qiujiaji of Shuibei Town, the easternmost end is Huajiashan of nakou Town, adjacent to Jianyang District in the Northeast; the southernmost end is dongqianshan of Hongdun Town, bordering Shunchang County in the southeast, Jiangle, Taining and Jianning County of Sanming City in the South; the westernmost end is Yanai of Guilin Township, connected with Lichuan County of Jiangxi Province, and Guangze County in the northwest.

Shaowu terrain from the north, southwest to the central, Southeast Fu Tun Valley tilt. Shanling mountain is the main vein of Wuyi Mountain in the northwest. The highest peak is sawangshan mountain in DABUGANG, with an elevation of 1523.9 meters. The lowest point is the riverbed of futun River in shuikouzhai in the southeast, with an altitude of 130 meters. The vast area of central China is low-lying, northwest southeast, descending from Daqian, longdou to shuikouzhai. The trend of the ridge is consistent with the main geological structure line in the territory, mostly nnse-sw.
Climatic characteristics
Shaowu has a mid subtropical monsoon climate. According to the data of Shaowu meteorological station, the continent degree is 56.2%. It is affected by both marine air mass and continental air mass, so the climate has the following main characteristics.
1. The monsoon climate is obvious. In winter and spring, affected by the dry and cold air mass of the mainland, the northwest wind blows mostly, the temperature is low, but there is no severe cold; from June to August, it is controlled by the warm and wet air mass of the ocean. The prevailing southerly wind, high temperature, no heat, because it is located in Wuyishan District, so the wind is small and mostly static.
2. Three dimensional climate is obvious. The territory of complex terrain, mountain peaks, continuous. Most of the main mountains are north by East - South by West. The altitude difference between the highest point and the lowest point is 1383m, and the temperature difference is 6 ~ 7 ℃. In the East, the terrain is low and gentle, and the altitude is mostly below 200 meters, so the climate condition is the best; in zhangcuo, Guilin, Jinkeng and other townships, the climate condition is poor due to the high terrain, mountainous and water-cooled.
3. The rainfall is abundant but unevenly distributed. The annual average rainfall is 1500-2100mm, the annual variation of rainfall is large, the difference between the most years and the youngest is nearly one time, and the rainfall distribution is uneven among seasons and months. It is rainy in spring and summer, with flood disasters; it is less rainy in autumn and winter, and prone to drought. About 81% of the annual rainfall is concentrated from March to September, especially from May to June, accounting for more than one third of the annual total.
4. Four distinct seasons, short winter and long summer, foggy all year round. Summer is 41 days longer than winter, and spring is 26 days longer than autumn. The annual average number of foggy days is 117.6 days, with 144 days in the most years and 97 days in the few years; the longest consecutive foggy days is 12 days; the average number of foggy days in the second half of the year is more than 10 days.
5. Disastrous weather is more prominent. In spring, there are cold in spring, cold in late spring, hail, gale and occasionally rainstorm. There are heavy rain, rainstorm, flood, high temperature, drought, strong thunderstorm and gale in summer, and occasionally "cold in May". In autumn, there is drought, cold dew and wind, and occasionally autumn rain. In winter, there are frost, freezing, heavy snow and occasionally cold waves.
