Xiangfang District, located in the southeast of Harbin City, is one of the four central districts of Harbin city. Xiangfang District is adjacent to Acheng District in the East and Southeast, Pingfang District in the south, Nangang District in the West and Nangang District and Daowai District in the north. It covers an area of 344.5 square kilometers and governs 20 streets, 3 towns and 1 township. At the end of 2018, the total number of registered residence in the whole district was 741751.
Xiangfang District is flat in the west, hilly and low-lying in the East and Southeast. The landform can be divided into three types: river terrace, proluvial alluvial platform and floodplain. There are Majiagou River, Ashe River, hejiagou River and Xinyigou river. It has a semi humid and semi-arid temperate continental monsoon climate, cold and dry in winter, warm and rainy in summer.
In 2018, Xiangfang District achieved a GDP of 67.56 billion yuan and a local public budget revenue of 1.89 billion yuan.
Historical evolution
Xiangfang District is the habitat of yilou people in Han and Wei dynasties, wuji'an in Sui and Tang Dynasties and Nuzhen in Song (Liao and Jin) dynasties. During the period of Jin Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Huining Prefecture in Shangjing. From the fifth year of Tianqing to the fifth year of Baoda (1115-1125), when the Jin Dynasty destroyed the Liao Dynasty, Xiangfang area became a military important place, a key road of land and water transportation leading to Huining mansion in Shangjing. Today, molijie village is an ancient city for training soldiers and horses, and chenggaozi area is a stockbreeding ground of the Jin State. After the establishment of Jin Dynasty, it belonged to the "Royal Forbidden Garden" in the mainland of Jin Dynasty. The establishment of the state of Jin established the history of Xiangfang area and created a new era of Xiangfang area.
After the destruction of Jin Dynasty in Yuan Dynasty, Xiangfang area belonged to tiemugegou Chijin territory, which was under the jurisdiction of wanhufu in Kaiyuan Dynasty; in Ming Dynasty, it belonged to ashiwei; since Qing Dynasty, with the implementation of Qing government's "Jingqi Tunken" policy, there were more than 20 villages in Xiangfang.
In the 19th year of Jiaqing (1814), villages such as "Tianjia Shaoguo" and "Fangfang" (Xiangfang) were formed in the city. From the fourth year of Yongzheng to the first year of Xuantong (1726-1909), it was successively under the jurisdiction of Binzhou Prefecture, Shuangcheng County, Acheng County, Binzhou department and the Middle East Railway Bureau, known as "Tianjia Shaoguo town", "Shanghao town" and "old Harbin". After the fall of Harbin, it was under the jurisdiction of Xiangfang Police Department of Harbin Police Department. In 1938, the Puppet Manchurian authorities implemented the district system in Harbin, and Xiangfang District was established on July 1 of the same year. In October 1940, the puppet Manchukuo Decree No. 282 announced that part of Shuangcheng county (now south of Hongqi Street, Dongli District) belonged to Xiangfang District.
On February 11, 1952, with the approval of Heilongjiang provincial government, the former four districts of Shuangcheng, laowangtun, Xinlitun (one village) and Ertun of zhenghuangqi, were under the jurisdiction of Xiangfang District. On September 25 of that year, Harbin municipal government decided that Yuanjia and luodou villages in Xiangfang District were under the jurisdiction of Taiping District. Dongke street road was designated as the boundary of Taiping and Xiangfang, and Yuanjia village administrative village was abolished. On November 23, 1953, the cottage area was designated by Xiangfang District, and Harbin cottage district was established. At the same time, Xiangfang suburb will be assigned to Chaoyang District. On October 15, 1956, with the approval of Heilongjiang Provincial People's Committee, Xiangfang District was established as Gaozi sub district office. In February 1958, chenggaozi street was assigned to Chaoyang District. In August, Chaoyang District was abolished, and Chaoyang Township, Xinxiangfang Township, liming Township and Sun Township under its jurisdiction were put under the leadership of Xiangfang District. On September 1, Chaoyang District Xinchun commune was under the jurisdiction of Xiangfang District. In November, the five streets of Heping, haping, Anle, Tongxiang and Qianjin in Xiangfang District and liming Township in Chaoyang District were designated, and the electromechanical people's commune was officially established. On July 6, 1959, with the approval of Harbin Municipal People's Committee, 10 natural villages and 9 production teams in Minqiang management area of Sheli people's commune in Acheng county were put under the jurisdiction of Xiangfang District, including former Xujia, later Xujia, shigangzi, Liujiazi, Sanjiazi, Fanjiatun, dongjiagou, chenjiatun, Zhangjiawan and Yangjiawan. On May 8, 1963, Binjiang District was established again, and Xiangyang commune was under the jurisdiction of Binjiang District. In 1988, the Harbin municipal government decided that the former Majiagou airport of Nangang District Innovation sub district office, from the junction of Zhongshan Road and Ganshui road in the west to the south of Hongqi Street, was under the jurisdiction of Liushun sub district office of Xiangfang District.
In October 2006, the former Xiangfang District and the original power District merged to form a new Xiangfang District.

The altitude ranges from 120.8 m to 198.3 M.

There are Majiagou River, Ashi River, hejiagou River and Xinyigou River in Xiangfang District. Majiagou originates from anjiawopu and wanghuiwentun at the junction of Pingfang district and Acheng City, flows into Songhua River from south to north, with a total length of 35 km and a length of 8.5 km through Xiangfang District. Xinyi gully originates from shuangyushutun, with a total length of 26 kilometers, a drainage area of 105 square kilometers, an average flow of 1.33 cubic meters per second, a flow of 3.5 kilometers through Xiangfang District, and a catchment area of 8.43 square kilometers. Hejiagou originates in the east of zhangjiadian, Pingfang District, and flows into Chaoyang Town, Xiangfang District from south to north along the slope. The total length of hejiagou is 37 km.
