Huidong County Huidong County, a county under the jurisdiction of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, is located in the south end of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and the northwest edge of Yunnan Guizhou Plateau. It is a humid monsoon climate zone in the west of the middle subtropical zone. It covers an area of 3226 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 13 towns and 7 townships with a total population of 427800 in 2018.
Huidong County has a long history, simple customs, Jinsha River Canyon, Laojun beach and other scenic spots. Huidong County is located in the intersection center of six districts and counties in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. The integration of Sichuan and Yunnan cultures has achieved the cultural characteristics of "integration of Sichuan and Yunnan, and bona Xidong". Evolution of organizational system
Huidong was the land of qiongdu in the ancient Qin Dynasty. In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC), Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, qiongdu was set up as a county, commanding 15 counties including qiongdu (now Southeast of Xichang City) and Huiwu (now west of Huili County). Huidong belongs to Huiwu County.
From 902 to 907-965, Huidong area was divided by local governments, such as "dachanghe state", "Datian Xingguo", "Dayi Ningguo" and "Dali State".
In 1382, it was transferred to Sichuan chief secretary.
In 1728, Ningyuan Prefecture was set up in Xichang. Dongchuan Prefecture belongs to Yunnan Province. Now most of Huidong Prefecture belongs to Ningyuan Prefecture. Songping and Tangtang areas along Jinsha River in the East belong to Dongchuan Prefecture.
Jiaqing 16 years (1811) set up qiaojiating governance, the eastern part of Huidong County now belongs to Yunnan, which is the good Changli of qiaojiating.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the eastern part of Huidong County was changed to wawufen Prefecture, which belongs to Huili prefecture (now Huili County) in Sichuan Province. The eastern part of Huidong County belongs to Qiaojia county in Yunnan Province.
In 1913, Huili Prefecture was changed into Huili County, and wawufen Prefecture was changed into wawufen County, which was still under Huili County.
In 1935, wawufen county was abolished and changed into the Fourth District of Huili County. Soon, it was renamed as SCAD fish district.
On March 23, 1950, Huidong was liberated.
On July 1, 1952, Huidong County was established in the eastern part of Huili County and some areas west of Jinsha River in the Second District of Qiaojia county, Yunnan Province. The county government was stationed in caiyuba (now caiyuhe town) and subordinate to Xichang Commissioner's office of Xikang province.
In October 1955, Xikang province was withdrawn and merged into Sichuan Province, and Huidong County was then subordinate to the office of Xichang Commissioner of Sichuan Province.
In October 1978, Xichang Prefecture was removed and merged into Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and Huidong County was changed into Liangshan Prefecture.

It faces Qiaojia county, Dongchuan District and Luquan County of Yunnan Province across Jinsha River in the East and south, adjacent to Huili County in the West and Ningnan County in the north. The county is 229km away from Xichang City in the north, 144km away from Panzhihua City in the West and 440km away from Kunming City in the south. Huidong County is 72 km from east to west and 81 km from north to south, covering an area of 3226 square kilometers.

The maximum distance between East and West is 72 kilometers, and the maximum distance between North and south is 81 kilometers, with a total area of 3226 square kilometers. The terrain of the area is high in the middle, gentle in the west, continuous in the north, steep in the East and south, and low in the Jinsha River Valley. The landform is mainly mountainous, followed by mountain plain, flat dam, platform and a small number of hills. The main mountain ranges are Lunan mountain range, Dahei Mountain range and LuKun mountain range. The highest peak is located in the tight tuyere cloud pan of Baishan Township in the middle of Huidong, with an altitude of 3331.8 meters; the lowest point is located at the confluence of mojiagou and Jinsha River in the northeast corner of Huidong, with an altitude of 640 meters.

The annual average temperature of Huidong is 16.2 ℃, the accumulated annual average sunshine is 2306.4 hours, the frost free period is 262 days, the solar radiation is strong, the annual average total amount of radiant heat is 136.2 kcal / cm2, and the annual average precipitation is 1095.5 mm. However, the vertical climate changes greatly, and the alpine snow and canyon are hot. The temperature rise and fall fluctuate greatly. Due to the variety of terrain and large elevation difference, the climate in valley, middle mountain and high mountain areas is different. Jinshajiang River Valley is hot and dry, with long summer and no winter, high temperature, drought, little rain, large evaporation, and prominent contradiction between water and heat. In Zhongshan area, the temperature rises and falls with great fluctuation, commonly known as "there are four seasons in a mountain, and different days in ten Li". The three-dimensional climate with small annual temperature range, large daily temperature range, and large vertical difference is significant. Huidong County has developed water system, which is controlled by geological structure and landform. The main rivers are Jinsha River and its primary tributaries, Caiyu River, Daqiao River, Tiechang River and Yanba River, with a total length of 562 km; 458 secondary and tertiary tributaries, with a total length of 315.9 km. They all take Jinsha River as the axis and form a semi pinnate distribution, flowing into Jinsha River from north to South or from west to East. The river network density is 0.1 km / km2, the total runoff is 1.498 billion cubic meters, and the inflow water is about 386 million cubic meters. Jinsha River has about 120 billion cubic meters of water. The largest river in the territory is Caiyu river.
