Lvyuan District Lvyuan District is a municipal district of Changchun City, Jilin Province. It was founded in 1995 and formerly a suburb of Changchun City. It is located in the west of Changchun City, Jilin Province, connecting Chaoyang District and Kuancheng District in the East, Changchun Automobile Industry Development Zone in the south, Gongzhuling City in the West and Nong'an County in the north. Changchun is an important walking machinery manufacturing supporting, agricultural and sideline products processing and urban vegetable and sideline food supply base.
As of 2018, Lvyuan District covers an area of 216 square kilometers with a population of about 620000. It has jurisdiction over three towns, five streets and four development zones, including three provincial-level industrial development zones, one Municipal Development Zone, 24 administrative villages and 57 urban communities. In 2016, the Gross Regional Product of Lvyuan District reached 24.7 billion yuan.
The location of green garden district is superior. Beijing Harbin, Changbai, Changzheng and Changnong provincial highways, ring expressway and the Fourth Ring Road run through the whole area. Harbin Dalian high speed railway passenger dedicated line and Jilin Changnong intercity railway are located in the area.

Evolution of organizational system
On March 28, 1957, Changchun suburban people's Committee was established. The suburban people's Committee is located at No. 53, Heishui Road, Changchun City.
In 1995, the suburb of Changchun City was abolished and Lvyuan District was set up. Five streets of Puyang, Lvyuan, Chuncheng, Dongfeng and Jincheng in Chaoyang District and two townships of Chengxi and Xixin were put under the jurisdiction of Lvyuan District. In January 1996, Luyuan street was renamed Zhengyang Street.

In 2005, Jincheng Street of Lvyuan District, four villages of Xixin Town, namely, Fanrong, Dongshan, Xixin, Rixin, Kaiyuan village, and a certain space of West Lake and lakeside, as well as the Automobile Trade Development Zone managed by them, were included in Changchun Automobile Industry Development Zone. The new area has reduced the area of green garden by a quarter.
On February 27, 2006, Luyuan District put four villages of Xixin Town, Xixin village, Rixin village, Dongshan village, Fanrong village and Kaiyuan village, Jincheng sub district office and Chuncheng sub district office entrepreneurial community under the management of automobile industry development zone.
