Beipiao, formerly known as "chuanzhou", is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province, which is managed by Chaoyang City. Located in the northeast of Chaoyang City, the middle reaches of Daling River. Its geographical location is between 120 ° 16 ′ e to 121 ° 20 ′ E and 41 ° 20 ′ n to 42 ° 30 ′ n. The total area of the city is 4469 square kilometers. Beipiao City belongs to the mid temperate sub humid monsoon continental climate with large temperature difference and high accumulated temperature. As of March 2020, Beipiao City has 4 sub district offices, 13 townships, 2 ethnic townships, 12 towns, 1 state-owned farm, 37 community committees, 252 villagers' committees and 3 branches. The government is located at No. 8 Shifu street, Beipiao City. As of 2018, the total registered residence of Beipiao was 555567.
Beipiao is named after the development of coal mines. It has a history of more than 3000 years. During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Beipiao belonged to donghushanrong. In 1985, Beipiao county was abolished and Beipiao City (county level) was established. National Highway 101, 305 and Changshen Expressway run through urban and rural areas in Beipiao City.
In 2018, the gross national product of Beipiao was 12.38 billion yuan, an increase of 2.9% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 3.15 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9%; the added value of the secondary industry was 2.89 billion yuan, an increase of 5.3%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 6.34 billion yuan, an increase of 1.5%.
Historical evolution
The name of Beipiao originated from coal mining in Qing Dynasty. During the reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, four coal mines were found in the territory. After being reported by the right wing banner of Tumet, the mining was approved in the 33rd year of Guangxu (1907), and four licenses, namely "dragon tickets", were issued. Because the four mines are in the north of Chaoyang, it is called "beisipiao", later referred to as Beipiao.
In the spring and Autumn period, Beipiao belonged to donghushanrong. At the same time, Yan Guoji people also went north to Chaoyang area.
During the Warring States period, it belonged to Liaoxi County of Yan state, with gouze capital, Yang'an capital, baigeng capital and Youcheng capital.
In the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Liaoxi county.
In the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Liaoxi County of Youzhou.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Liucheng County, Liaoxi County, Youzhou. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Gongsun duping Prefecture.
Wei Jin period, belongs to Changli County.
During the period of Sixteen States in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Changli County (zhilongcheng, now Chaoyang) of Qianyan, qianqin and Houyan. Beiyan belongs to Yinlong city of Changli.
During the northern and Southern Dynasties, the Northern Wei Dynasty belonged to Longcheng, Changli County, Yingzhou. The Eastern Wei Dynasty and the Northern Qi Dynasty belonged to Yingzhou.
In Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Liucheng county.
In Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Liaoxi county. Tianbao first year (742) to camp state, Liucheng governance.
In Liao Dynasty, it belonged to Zhongjing Road. In the third year of Huitong (940), chuanzhou was built in the territory, and Xiankang was governed by three counties: Xiankang county (now sijiban, Bajiazi Township in the South), Hongli county (now Tuchengzi), and Yimin county (now Heichengzi town). Later, it set up Qianzhou and governed Shengji county (now Shangyuan town).
In the Jin Dynasty, in the sixth year of Dading (1166), Jiangchuan Prefecture was named Yimin County, belonging to Xingzhong Prefecture of Beijing road.
During the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Daning Luchuan Prefecture.
During the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Yingzhou youweitun (Chaoyang), and later to Tainingwei (Chaoyang to the west of Liaohe River in Fuxin, and later to the right wing banner of Tumet in zhuosotu League).
In the Qing Dynasty, it was in the east of tazigou hall. Guangxu 30 years (1904) under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang County.
During the period of the Republic of China, after 1933, it was under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang County, Jinzhou province. In 1940, Beipiao was designated as the Middle Banner of Tumet. In 1946, the people's Government of Beipiao county was established under the jurisdiction of Rehe province. In 1948, it was under the jurisdiction of western Liaoning Province.

In 1925, Chaoyang County established three districts in Beipiao area. In 1935, Chaoyang County established six districts in Beipiao area. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), on January 1, Chaoyang County was divided into six districts in the East and northeast, and tumed banner was established. On September 29, 1945, Beipiao county was established and divided into nine districts. In 1946, Beipiao county had four districts and one office. In January, 1947, Tumet Zhongqi was established, and three Sumu branches were established in qijintai, Heichengzi and Shibaji districts. In June of the same year, Chaobei county was merged into Beipiao County, and the whole county was divided into nine districts. In January 1948, the joint government of Tumote Middle Banner in Beipiao county was established, which was divided into 14 districts; in March of the same year, the joint government of beifuyi county was established, which governed three districts, namely Changgao dawulan and zigutai; in April of the same year, the joint County of Jinyi was expanded, and two districts, batuyingzi and jixianggou, south of Daling River, were assigned to the joint County of Jinyi.
In May 1949, Beipiao tumed banner united government was abolished and Beipiao County People's government was established. At the same time, beifuyi united government was abolished. Six administrative villages, namely dawulan, zigutai, Changgao, batuyingzi, chenkuiyingzi, Fangshengou, dengjiawopu, yangcaodianzi and baisilanggou, were assigned to Beipiao county and batuyingzi district was established. At the same time, bandayingzi district was abolished, and its eight administrative villages, namely zhangjiyingzi, bandayingzi of Xiangshun, pingandi, shierdaoyingzi, yangjiawopu, sunjiawopu and 40000 Guan, were classified into Heichengzi district. Seven administrative villages including cunzhuyingzi, dajiayingzi, Sanjiazi, shuangshanzi, Shizigou, chaheyingzi and baliyingzi were assigned to shibafen district; in July of the same year, 12 districts were abolished and merged into 11 districts; 13 districts were abolished and merged into 8 districts. After the merger, the county was divided into 16 districts; in November of the same year, Beipiao mining area was established, and Chengxiang District, the original 13 districts and 11 districts were classified as mining areas.
In 1950, Beipiao mining area was abolished and renamed Beipiao County mining area.
In June 1955, except for the mining area of Beipiao County, which was still under the first-class political power, all the other districts were renamed district offices as the agencies of the people's Committee of the county, and the district names were changed from numerical arrangement to geographical names.
In March 1956, the 10 district offices of niujiadian Shuiquan, shibafendongguanyingzi, yushuxiaxia, Xiafu, Nanling, batuyingzi, dawulan and zigutai were abolished, and the 8 district offices of Heichengzi, yulamasi, Changgao, Tanggou, mengguoyingzi, xiguanyingzi, Taohuatu and Chaoyang temple and the mining area of Beipiao county were reserved. At the same time, 275 administrative villages were divided into 76 townships.
In January 1956, the mining area of Beipiao county was abolished and Beipiao town was established.
On January 15, 1957, the county was divided into 65 townships.
On March 20, 1958, 65 townships in the county were merged into 35 townships, and Xiafu and qijintai townships were designated as Mongolian townships; on September 16, 1958, 35 townships and one town were merged into 15 people's communes; at the end of December of the same year, Liaoning provincial government put lamasi and Guoshi geyingzi communes under Fuxin County.
On April 9, 1960, with the approval of the people's Committee of Liaoning Province, mengmengying people's Commune and Baoguo old people's commune were merged into shibazhai people's commune. At this time, 11 people's communes were under the jurisdiction of the county.
In April 1961, the original 11 people's communes were adjusted to 25; in July and November of the same year, jiangjiawopu people's Commune and halnao people's commune were established respectively.
In 1962, four new people's communes, hongshila, Tuchengzi, Xiafu and Wujianfang, were built. So far, there are 31 people's communes in the county, and xingshunde state-owned animal husbandry farm has been built. In the same year, Beipiao mining area (county level) was established under the direct leadership of Chaoyang City.
In 1968, the Management Committee of the people's commune was changed into the Revolutionary Committee of the people's commune.
In February 1969, Beipiao mining area was merged into Beipiao county.
At the beginning of 1980, some brigades were set up from Baoguo's husband's commune to establish shibayu commune; some brigades were set up from Wujianfang commune to establish Sanbao commune; some brigades were set up from xiguanying commune to establish bungalow commune. So far, Beipiao county has jurisdiction over 33 people's communes, one town (Beipiao town) and one farm (xingshunde animal husbandry farm).
In 1984, the establishment of people's communes was abolished and townships were established. Xingshunde farm changed to township system, Baoguo Laoshe changed to town system, Mayouying changed to Mongolian township. So far, there are 33 townships, 2 towns, 1 forest deer farm, 332 administrative villages and 2152 natural villages in the county.
On April 5, 1985, Beipiao City (a county-level city) was established by withdrawing the county, and the organizational system of Beipiao town was abolished. The original eight sub district offices of Chengguan, Qiaoxi, guanshanqiaobei, Nanshan, Sanbao, Taiji and Weidong were changed into six sub district offices of Chengguan, Guanshan, Qiaobei, Nanshan, Sanbao and Taiji, belonging to the agency of the municipal government.
In March 1994, six sub district offices were renamed management areas.
In 1999, shibatai township was abolished and its administrative region was merged into Baoguolao town; Pingfang township was merged into xiguanying town; hongshila township was merged into Sanbao township; sanbaoying township was merged into Shangyuan town; changheying township was merged into Changgao township; zhangjiying township was merged into Daban Town; halnao township was merged into Taohuatu Township; Tuchengzi township was merged into Wujianfang township; quanjuyong township was merged into Wujianfang township Mengmengying Township, Liangshuihe Township merged into Xiafu Mongolian Township, xingshunde Township merged into Heichengzi Town, xingshunde Township merged into Heichengzi Town, and Taiji town merged into dongtaiji sub district office.
In 2000, Wujianfang Township and Taohuatu Township were abolished and Wujianfang town and Taohuatu town were established.
