In Han Dynasty, it belonged to Qianwei and Yuexi counties, and was located in the junction of Nan'an, Bodao and Bishui counties.
In Shuhan period, Mabian belonged to Xindao county. In the Wei, Jin and southern and Northern Dynasties, Mabian was named Bodao and Nan'an counties of Qianwei County, which were actually occupied by Liao and old people.
The Sui, Tang and Song Dynasties ruled the minority nationalities by Jimi Prefecture, "that is to say, their tribes were set up in prefectures and counties, most of which were dudufu, and their leaders were Dudu and Cishi, all of which were hereditary. Although the tribute and Fu editions were not registered, the Shengjiao Institute and Duhu Institute were all Dudu and duhusuo of bianzhou" (Geography records of the new Tang Dynasty).
In the Tang Dynasty, Mahu department was established in Xiaoliang mountain area, which governed four Jimi States, Yin, Xun, Cheng and lang. Mabian was one of them. In Song Dynasty, Mabian belonged to Mahu and xuhen respectively.
In 1065, laiyinzhai was built in Pingba and rongdingzhai under laiyinnao (now mistaken for yanyinglao). Mabian was under Qianwei County of Jiazhou (now Leshan City), Xuzhou Prefecture and xuhen Department of Dali state.
In 1298, the five villages of Laiyin, Rongding, Lidian, Muchuan and longpeng were assigned to Mahu road in the Yuan Dynasty, and Mabian was subordinate to Muchuan chief of Xuanfu simahu road in Xunan.
In the Ming Dynasty, Mabian belonged to the Department of Muchuan, the governor of simahu Prefecture, Sichuan Province. In the 17th year of Wanli (1589), the Ming Dynasty "set up the Anbian Hall of Mahu Prefecture, built the Daheba of the city (now the county seat), and named Xinxiang town as the emperor" ("mabianting annals volume v. tablet of jianxinxiang city"), and appointed Wang Jing, the fourth grade official, as the Tongzhi of Anbian hall. The Anbian Hall of Mahu Prefecture was separated from the Chief Secretary of Muchuan, and was under the jurisdiction of Mahu Prefecture. Along with the construction of Xinxiang town and Yanfeng City, a military organization was also built. It was named "Mabian camp" after the abbreviation of "Mabian Hall of Mahu mansion". There were two thousand soldiers and garrison. Hence the name of "Mabian".
At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, I stayed in Mabian camp to lay off and set up the Bianting hall. In 1727, the Qing Dynasty incorporated Mahu Prefecture into Xuzhou Prefecture, and Mabian then belonged to Pingshan County. Pingshan County established four townships in Mabian, namely pengba, Chuanyang, Shangxi and Xiaxi.
In the 29th year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty (1764), Han immigrants from other places increased day by day, and the cause of reclamation developed. Altai, the governor of Sichuan Province, asked the imperial court to set up a Mabian hall from Pingshan, which was directly under the state capital of Xuzhou, and to move it from Fushun to Mabian, where the "general sentence of supervising, arresting and managing the people" was issued.
In the 13th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1808), Tongzhi was sent to govern. There are 17 venues in Jiuxiang, presided over by Han officials. There are nine Tubai households in the Yi inhabited area, which are issued by the governor yamen of Sichuan Province with a certificate of appointment. The head of the Yi nationality serves as the tumu, and they are all hereditary.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the government was abolished and the road was built. The provincial road was unified and the county was unified by the road. Mabian hall is located in the south of Xiachuan road.
In 1914, xiachuannandao was renamed yongningdao, ling25 County, and Mabian hall was renamed Mabian county.
In August 1950, Mabian was liberated and the people's Government of Mabian county was established under the jurisdiction of Leshan District of southern Sichuan administrative department.
In January 1956, Mabian county was put under the jurisdiction of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and was managed by Leshan Prefecture.
