Songpan county is a county under the jurisdiction of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. Located in the eastern edge of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and the northeast of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, it has an administrative area of 8486 square kilometers and a population of 74945 (2015). It governs 3 towns and 22 townships, and the county people's government is located in Jin'an town.
Songpan county has a long history. During the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty, there were "songzhouwei", "panzhouwei" and "songpanwei" successively, which gave Songpan its name. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Songpan Zhili hall was changed to Songpan County, which is still in use at the county level. The transportation of Songpan county is well developed, and the west line of the "Ninth Ring Road" runs through the county along the Minjiang River. Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport is only 25 kilometers south of the county. The natural landscape is complex and diverse, with complete categories and a large number. It has Huanglong, Munigou, Songpan ancient city and other scenic spots.
In 2016, Songpan county achieved a GDP of 1.929 billion yuan. On April 28, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to withdraw Songpan county from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties.
Historical evolution
In the fifth year of King Shenzhou (316 BC), after the Qin Dynasty destroyed Shu, Jiandi county was established at the county level.
In 618, the first year of Wude, Emperor Gaozu of Tang Dynasty, Songzhou was established.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Songzhou and panzhou were established. Songzhou is named after gansongling, and its mountain produces Gansong; panzhou is named after panluozhi, the general of Tuban.
During the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty, Songzhou Wei, panzhou Wei and Songpan Wei were established successively, which gave Songpan its name.
In the Qing Dynasty, Songpan hall and Songpan Zhili hall were set up.
In 1913, it was changed to Songpan county.

Songpan County, covering an area of 8486 square kilometers, is located in the northeast of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Songpan county is bounded by Heye fault, Minjiang fault and Xueshan fault, which is divided into West Qinling Motianling district and malkang Jinchuan district. The north margin is Kunlun Qinling latitudinal structural belt, and the southwest is Longmenshan ne polygonal structural belt, which is composed of Kangdian type giant.
