topographic features
Yi county is located in the Huangshan Mountains and its north and south slopes, with continuous peaks, high mountains and deep valleys.
The development of Yixian landform is the result of crustal movement and external force. About 850 million years ago, the pre Sinian strata were fully folded by the Jinning movement, forming the basic geomorphic outline of the Huangshan Mountains, and most of them were in the rising period. From 350 million to 410 million years ago, the Caledonian period showed a large-scale upward movement. From 195 million to 280 million years ago, the Indosinian movement formed a NE trending linear fold and formed a NE trending mountain. From then on, the geomorphology of Yixian County became basically fixed. Due to the influence of the Huangshan Mountains, Yi county is divided into two hilly areas in the north and south. When it came to Yanshanian period 80 million years ago, it was mainly characterized by fault movement and frequent magmatic activity. At this time, it gave birth to the embryo of five peaks, such as Bainian mountain, dafotang, sanfujian, fangmaoling and Xingling, and the depression zone in the ancient land of Yuting, which inherited and developed the landform of the county. The Yanshanian movement in the past 80 million years, especially during the Quaternary period in the past two million years, is characterized by the intermittent rise of strong fissures, the development of erosion structures and topography, the strong source erosion and downcutting of rivers, and the development of erosion terraces and base terraces.
climate
Yi county has a humid monsoon climate in the north subtropical zone. Four distinct seasons and mild climate.
