Kuiwen District, belonging to Weifang City, Shandong Province. It is located in the north and northeast of Weifang City, adjacent to Hanting District, bounded by Bailang River in the west, facing Weicheng District, and adjacent to Fangzi District in the South and Southeast. The total area is 187.78 square kilometers.
Kuiwen District, located in the middle of Shandong Peninsula, has a warm temperate continental semi humid monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. Weizhou was established in the 16th year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (596), and Weixian was changed in the 10th year of Hongwu of Ming Dynasty (1377). Kuiwen has a long history. Ancient statesman Yan Ying, master of Confucian classics Zheng Xuan, agronomist Jia Sixie, calligrapher and painter Zhang Zeduan, as well as Kong Rong, Fan Zhongyan, Ouyang Xiu, Su Shi and Zheng Banqiao all traveled here. There are four streets to the east of Bailang River in Weicheng District, including Dongguan, Dongyuan, Xuexue and Xincheng, three towns of Dayu, nianlibao and Liyuan, seven villages of liujiashawo, lijiashawo, Nanjia, Guojia, sunlujia, gaojiajiantouyuan and wujiajiantouyuan in junbukou Town, and seven villages of lijiazumao, dujiazhumao, xuanjiazhumao, Xinzhuang, wangjiatanli, xiaonantan and xijinma in guojiaguanzhuang town in Hanting district Nine villages, dongjinjuan and hanjiatanli, are classified as Kuiwen District.
On December 9, 1994, with the approval of Weifang Municipal government, Kuiwen District was adjusted from the original 7 streets (towns) to 9 streets.
On April 9, 1998, with the approval of Weifang Municipal government, maozizhuang village of nianlibao street was put under the jurisdiction of Nanyuan street. On December 30 of the same year, with the approval of Weifang Municipal government, the College Street was abolished and Weizhou road street was established. On January 25, 2003, with the approval of Weifang Municipal government, 8 villages in xihebei, Hebei Zhangzhuang, dongsanjia, Sanguanmiao, Shijia, shanhouwangjia, shanhouxujia and donghexi under the jurisdiction of Liyuan street in Kuiwen District were put under the jurisdiction of Xincheng Street (managed by Weifang High tech Industrial Development Zone). Xingshi village in Dayu street of Kuiwen District and sanniangmiao village in Beiyuan street were put under the management of Weifang agricultural high tech Industrial Development Zone.
On June 12, 2003, with the approval of Weifang Municipal government, Weifang Steel Plant Industrial Park was established and managed by Kuiwen District. Taking the address of Weifang iron and Steel Group Company as the core, the planning and construction land of Weifang iron and Steel Plant Industrial Park is bounded by Wei'an road in the west, Jiaoji Railway and houcheliuzhuang village in the north, and the village of the industrial park in the East and south.
