Yanling County Yanling County, formerly known as Lingxian County, belongs to Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. It is located in the southeast border of Hunan Province and the West foot of Jinggang Mountain. It was renamed Yanling County in 1994 because of the "holy mausoleum in the city" - Yandi mausoleum. The county has a total area of 2030 square kilometers, and at the end of 2017, the resident population was 204 thousand and 200, with a total population of 193 thousand registered residence, including 5 towns, 4 townships, 1 ethnic townships and 1 state-owned farms.
Yanling County belonged to Jingdi in ancient times and Chaling County in Changsha County in Han Dynasty. It is known as "the tail of Changsha Tea Town" in history. It is the happy resting place of Shennong, the ancestor of the Chinese nation. Yan Emperor Mausoleum, known as "the first mausoleum in China", is a national key cultural relic protection unit and a national 4A scenic spot. Yanling is an important part of Jinggangshan revolutionary base. Hengyan expressway, yanmu expressway, yanru Expressway and Jiheng railway run through Yanling.
In 2017, Yanling County achieved a GDP of 6.57 billion yuan and a per capita disposable income of 15971 yuan, an increase of 8.5% over the previous year, of which the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 26535 yuan, an increase of 7.8% over 2016. Historical evolution
In the Western Zhou Dynasty, Yanling belonged to Jingzhou, Chu in the spring and Autumn period, and Chu and Qianzhong in the Warring States period.
In the 26th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (211 BC), Changsha County was divided into central Guizhou and Yanling County.
In the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (202 BC), Chaling County was set up, which belongs to the kingdom of Changsha, and Yanling Prefecture belongs to Chaling County. In the sixth year of Jianwu (30 years) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the state of Changsha was changed into Changsha County, which was subordinate to Changsha County with Chaling County.
In 1211, Kangle, Xiayang and Changping townships were set up in Chaling County, which was subordinate to Chaling army.

The county is basically covered by two main mountains, Bamian Mountain in the West and wanyang mountain in the southeast.
